I have problem in installing the Acrobat reader for Palm, the second time. Here is the sequence I went thru.

1. I installed acrobat reader for Palm, and everything was OK.
2. But I have problem in downloading ebook with security (some message of "pdf has not been encrypted..."). Hence I remove the same reader from control panel, using remove software.
5. After removing, some message says that acrobat reader will be removed from palm in next sync. But it never happened.
4. But before I removed, I have a pdf converted, and ready to be download to my palm. The file is never downloaded.
5. Somehow my Windows' acrobat is screwed up, I could not print to pdf writer. And I purchased the upgrade from 5.0 to 7.0.
6. I tried to reinstall acrobat for palm again before and after upgrade, setup just stop working in the middle of it. The file decompression has passed. I found AdobeReader305-PalmOS.exe and setup.exe running in task manager, but nothing is happening.

I am not sure what is going on. Perhaps setup is checking for something in registry, or something left undone earlier.
Anyway, any pointer is greatly appreciated.

What version of Palm reader? What version of Palm OS?

Thanks for the response.
I first installed on reader 7.0, with palm 3.0. After failure, I tried palm 2.0, still fails. And I installed prof 7.0, with palm 3.0, and still fails.

Check the documentation. I think your Palm OS is way old. I have an
OLD palm that is at 3.5 and only accepts Reader 3. Current Palms I
believe are at ver 5.

Thanks for your response.
My issue is not about the PDA and its OS version. It is about installation in the PC not able to proceed thru after uncompression the setup files. it worked the first time. But I was not able to install it again after removal. Again, everything is on the PC side.

The way I understand it, the piece on your desktop is not a "reader" as in the reader you normally use, it is a tool that reflows the file for your PDA and then works through your hot sync software to d/l the file to the PDA. The Palm reader (in my understanding) is the software on the PDA that reads the converted file.

File show up in the list of files to be transferred.
Is the rest of the sync process working?
