Hmmm, I've been thinking about all the ideas we've been floating for a while, and the whole monthly fiction idea, and I think I know what we should do to tie this project together. Someone suggested the Iliad or one of the famous narratives of its kind . . . but why not Ozymandias itself? We can produce a bunch of separate pieces alongside the print project, all based on the underlying themes of Ozymandias and its related imagery, such as hubris, Egyptian mythology, fallen civilisations, etc. Maybe someone could write about Napoleon's attempts to secure the statue of Ramses II found by Giovanni Belzoni in 1816. Another could write a new Egyptian myth featuring Ramses interacting with the gods. A third might write about the sculptor who made the statue. Or whatever else. We could interpret the theme as widely as possible.
How does that sound?
