Dear Friends,

I hope most of you are aware by now, that my wife (Imesha Madavee) was admitted in ICU (Mediclinic Welcare in Dubai) due to adverse Pneumonia condition. She was 6 ½ months pregnant by that time.

Unfortunately, doctors were not able to diagnose her accurately due to complications and finally, we got to know that she was infected by H1N1 through the medical tests done in Welcare.

When she was admitted to the hospital she was given almost 90% Oxygen to keep her blood saturated. Her lungs are so weak. She fought for her life for 9 days with pregnancy. The doctors were unable to give her proper treatment because it might affect the baby too.
However, as her condition was gradually deteriorating and her kidneys also started to failing, finally, the doctors decided to save her life by delivering the baby by LSCS .
Fortunately, the surgery was successfully done on 18th February 2015 and the baby was delivered safely. Since then, Imesha started recovering and her condition has improved a lot up to date.

However, the baby was shifted to NICU as she was born extremely premature (27 weeks) and following are the estimated cost given by the Welcare Hospital.

Estimated cost for the ventilator
7 days AED 1,400.00 per day
AED 1,400 * 7
AED 9,800.00
Estimated cost for the incubator
84 days (from 18 Feb to estimated delivery date 22 May) AED 6,000.00 per day
AED 6,000* 84
AED 504,000.00
Emergency Cesarean surgery charge after deducting the insurance contribution (total surgery charge was AED 24,513.00)
Maternity limit was AED 15,000.00 insurance paid AED 9,212.10  only.
AED 15,300
AED 15,300.00
Total approximate estimated cost

AED 529,100.00

With the current situation, I am unable to get the insurance for my baby as I have to add my baby for my wife's insurance and for that, I must obtain my baby's birth notification, as per insurance procedures. However, the hospital requires a security deposit of AED 500,000.00 to issue the birth notification.

Almost all expenses of my wife are covered by the insurance. But the expenses for baby is not covered by the insurance due to aforesaid birth notification issue. Further, it is very difficult for me to afford this hospital bills on my own.
I understand that, Welcare Hospital charges are high and therefore, I am considering the option of transferring the baby to Lathifa Hospital to curtail the huge hospital bill, if possible.
Therefore I kindly request all my friends to extend your generous support in this difficult time which will help us to be in one shelter soon.

I herewith enclosed two photos of my wife and baby and the copies of medical reports your kind reference.
