Hello,

I'm doing some preliminary research on OWF & OZP and was wondering if the roadmap diagram found below

is still being followed and on schedule?  noticed this roadmap was created back in 2015 and wanted to make sure that some of the dates found on it are valid, especially

the decommission date and the end support date for OWF. Please let me know if there are more recent/better versions of this map or any other diagrams/charts related to the

current/future directions for Ozone products, we would love to get our hands on them!

Thank you,

-John

We have reached out to the development team for a Roadmap. There is a meeting with the GOSS Board to take place at the end of January where the roadmap will be presented and discussed.  The roadmap will be made public some time after this meeting take place.

Can we please get an update on this Roadmap?  Obviously, support for OWF continued beyond April 2016 since 7.17.1 was released in January.

At what point will all legacy support end without an expensive maintenance contract?  My program management would like to know.  We have operationally fielded OWF 7.17.1 on a government contract and are looking at the possibility of upgrading to OZP, but need to know our maintenance options.  Is OZP currently being maintained free of charge?  I haven't seen an update to any of its modules in 15 months, ozp-center and ozp-backend being the most recent.

Thanks,
Tom

Come to think of it, what is the status of overall governance for OWF?  It strikes me rather funny that  http://owfgoss.org redirects to https://ozone.nextcentury.com/

Hi Tom,

The roadmap is heavily influenced by what the FOSS community is interested in pursuing and developing/submitting back to the baseline.  It is helpful when the FOSS community reaches out to us to let us know what they are planning on developing so we can coordinate it to be successful with other projects also developing Ozone.

There is a project that has reached out to us about submitting a pull request in Q1 of CY18 which will likely include an upgrade to a number of pieces in the backend of OWF and OMP.  We also received a pull request supporting some enhanced mobile capability with OWF which we will hopefully be releasing together with the upgrades mentioned.

Together, these will likely be versioned as 7.17.2.  Depending on the actual timing of when we receive these submissions, we would anticipate the release of 7.17.2 occurring some time during Q1 or Q2 of CY18.

We've also heard from a project in the UK that may be working on some UK specific enhancements over the new 12 months, and we are talking with them about the best way to integrate those back into the baseline.

Hi Miles,

OWF is still governed by the GOSS board which still meets quarterly.  In 2016 when Next Century was named by the NSA Technology Transfer Office as the Ozone custodian, the owfgoss.org domain was setup to redirect to ozone.nextcentury.com
