Issue removing groups from widgets

I am using 7.0.1-GA. Has anyone encountered an issue where owf starts throwing StaleObjectStateExceptions (Row was updated or deleted by another transaction or un-saved value mapping was incorrect) after removing groups from a widget while users were on the system. We were able to reproduce in out dev environment but it quickly recovered automatically. In production with many users on the system it did not recover and overloaded the database.
