OZHS Slack Channel

Hi All

We had a very impromptu hackerspace BoF last night at LCA Melbourne (after a great Open Hardware miniconf put on by the CCHS guys).

I agreed to create a slack channel for Australian hackerspaces to collaborate in a more effective way - sharing ideas and working practices.

Not sure if this email list is currently that current, but if you are a committee member of an Australian hackerspace or makerspace - please shoot me an email and I will add you to the slack.

I'll probably make all the current club presidents admin of the slack so the ownership of this doesn't all sit with me.

Hi All,

The mailing list has been rather underused for a while. I'm still adding people when they request it.

If anyone who is on the exec of a space wants to be added as an admin please contact me and I'll add you as one.

There's also the IRC channel #ozhs on freenode if people want to use it (feel free to chuck a slack bot in there Steve).

I'm currently between jobs and probably will be moving to Melbourne in the not too distant future, I was actually even in Melb till this morning but wasn't able to make it to CCHS or LCA :-(

Hi All

To everyone that emailed me - you should now have invites to the channel. You can also invite others - so please invite other interested members in your committees

I have deliberately not invited the whole committee of my space as I don't want this channel to just be an extension of all of our committees.... I think a handful of "emissaries" from each hackerspace is probably the best model (and these don't necessarily have to be committee - for instance in CCHS some of their most active members are not on committee at this point).

Lemming - feel free to make me an admin of the list - slackbot would be good - but does anyone frequent the ozhs channel - I totally forgot about it! Good luck in Melbourne!
