After not finding much last year in the club admin/accounting services that suit our needs, Gavin (Robodino president) sent me a link to tidyclub.com this week.
The pricing and features are a much better fit for us so we are in the process of joining up.
Ping us if we forget to report on how it goes.

Very interested to hear about your experiences.  Manual processes are too time consuming and error prone.  Automated processes take too long to develop from scratch.  Finding an affordable, existing on-line system ... especially one that can be customized / extended for specific purposes, e.g hooking into the physical space access system ... would be great.

By the way, we are thinking of keeping your president ... you don't want him back do you ?

I'll have to make sure I escape the Melbourne space on Saturday. No 'can you help me troubleshoot this 3D printer in the darkened room over there' shenanigans :-)

We did some math on this and we are a bit torn. It looks ideal, but it's going to be _very_ expensive.

30 members * $60 * 12 = 21600

30 members * $60 * 0.03 * 12 = 648
30 members * 12 * 0.5 = 180

648 + 180 = $828 per year to run our membership through tidyclub. Whether or not that's worth it, who knows just yet. It's just a large $ amount. Ie its $70 a month, or just over the cost of one member.

We spend something like that just on rubbish removal, which has tangible benefits, whereas tidyclub just promises 'better'.

Then again, anything to get away from google docs.

That does seem like a lot, but did you consider what fees you are paying now via PayPal or whatever?

PayPal charge 2.4% + $0.30 per transaction, or about $626 compared to $828 in your example.

(less if you’re doing $5,000+ per month and set up a merchant account, which I’m sure we’d all love to be doing)

We currently operate exclusively on bank transfers, which costs us nothing. So, yeah.

Your space must have someone more willing to spend their time on the stuff TidyClub than I. :-)

I have been suggesting bank transfers as our preferred option to new members when they ask how to join. Some are happy to setup a recurring payment some do it manually and forget.

Hi Max,

Just wondering if you have anything to report on TidyClub so far?

Our space is just at the point where we're establishing member fees etc and so I've preemptively started our own group on there. Got a message from one of the admin's asking if we're you guys. Said that we are different groups and he thought it was awesome that there are two groups with similar motives joining up around the same time...

Anyway, just thought I'd ask how things are going with them and whether you'd recommend them.

Cheers,

Adrian.

We haven't sent in the forms to get them taking payments yet. We will get around to it soon.

As a side note we were a bit surprised when you guys chose such a similar name. It doesn't seem to cause too much confusion though.
