Welcome to the 2018 Autumn IFAPA newsletter. This summer has seen some busy activities by specialists in adapted physical activity. There were several zonal events in a short space of time, first with an inclusive education conference in Nigeria. President Marty Block and Past President Claire Bousier both attended and were invited as speakers. Then there were over 200 delegates who attended the European Conference of Adapted Physical Activity in the UK. Here, IFAPA European Representative to the board, Kwok Ng, was elected as the Vice President of the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity. Then there was the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise (ASAPE) conference in Malaysia. There, the IFAPA vice-president Cindy Sit was elected as President of ASAPE. With these positions, it is hoped that there would be stronger bonds between zonal and IFAPA.
In this issue of the IFAPA newsletter, there are articles about the 21st ISAPA 2019, celebration peice of the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics, information about the European Journal of Adapted Physical Activity, as well as a research centre spotlight on the Peter Harrison Centre on Disability Sport, Loughborough University, UK.
