After 2 days we have 15 members. 10 people have filled out the survey and here is how we currently stand
What we want to read:
9 DDD
9 Pragmatic Programmer
8 Refactoring
8 Design Patterns
8 Clean Code
Other suggestions:
Growing Object Oriented Software, Guided by Tests {sound cool}
Patterns on Enterprise Application Architecture
Working Effectively with Legacy Code
What we do:
8 C#
4 Ruby
2 Python
Others
VB, Boo, Delphi, SQL
Also, apparently beer icecream is not a good plan
So far its pretty tight but it looks as it DDD and Prag Prog are in the lead. I lean towards starting with Prag Prog as its a lighter easier read. Then again, perhaps DDD would provoke the deeper discussion. Who knows.
If you know other people who might be interested please extend them an invitation. How much lead time do folks need to get the book once one has been chosen?
Regards,
Mike
