It has been a long time coming, a lot of hard work and a lot of money to get the Future Faqtory finally operational. A lot of people put blood sweat and tears into helping this place get off its feet.

So, I am also pleased to announce that we're launching the Sydney City Hackerspace, based at the Future Faqtory.

The plan is to have anywhere from 2-5 Hacker/Maker sessions per week where people in the City (and afar) can come in and learn, collaborate, meet new people and have a fun time.

At other times the Faqtory will be used by Future Now Academy (Future/Technology Training Courses) and Q Division (Cutting Edge Technology R&D/Innovation).

We're also planning of having Virtual Reality open times (in about 2 weeks) where people can come in and play with Samsung Gears, HTC Vive at Room Scale and Oculus Rift. Somewhere down the track, our Brainwear Lab will kick into life as well...

In the meantime, this Friday we are having an Open Day launch of the Sydney City Hackerspace - a new community of those who love technology and love messing with it even more!

So, if you are in Sydney and would like to come down and say hi, we're on Sussex St opposite the Cinema Carpark - but be aware - you must book... no walk-ins as we need to manage numbers. There will be some food and drink and 10-minute talks each hour from 2 pm till 7pm.

We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
