He left his car at Mona Vale police station, and left his mobile phone at home.

 

He does have a tendency to go all Bear Grylls and take off into the wilderness and disconnect from technology with just a GPS and emergency beacon, but not without letting everyone know. He’s had a pretty rough trot personally lately, so let’s hope he just needed to disconnect and clear his head.

 

But please share and let us know if you know anything.

 

My last communication with him was on Monday and he sounded quite upbeat.

We obviously couldn’t get in touch with him on Sunday. He should have been hosting the meetup with us, but we didn’t think much of it as he has missed a few lately as he’s had his hands full with a recent new addition to the family.

 

Here’s hoping he turns up soon with a longer beard and some wilderness survival stories.

I only heard that Stony passed away last week at the IoT event. I missed all the emails, as Google moves them into a folder that I don't check very often.

I wanted to say how very sorry I was at the news, as he is/was such a tremendous character.

I was wondering if there was a fund / charity that I might be able to donate a little something towards in his memory. I wondered if the makerspace/OzBeery folks might know a Tech in Schools or tech in community charity that might be appropriate.
