Hello,

My name is Alistair and I'm getting in touch for some advice to make a remote field recording device using a Raspberry Pi system.

I am following the instructions on the Locus Sonus website, which outlines how to build a StreamBox using:

I'm aiming to get the system working remotely so I can stream field recordings from national parks around NSW. I am having trouble getting the raspberry pi to interact with my sound card, I have been given some advice on how to change the programming but its turned out to be a little tricky.

I'd appreciate any advice or help, I am keen to attend the next OzBerry event at Sydney Uni on 17 August.

Cheers,

Alistair

Hey Alistair,

I have the Focusrite Scarlett 212 Dual Channel, and I was going to get around to setting up a feed into a pi, but I just haven't got around to it yet.

Please do keep me updated on how you are going though.

Wow that Focusrite sure is expensive. Sure you need that many bits?

I haven’t used it with a Pi, but the Behringer UCA202 is pretty sweet.
It’s just some op-amps wrapped around a single-chip solution from TI,
and I’ve had very good results with it. Under $AU60.
