AMBS Ecology & Heritage Pty Ltd is a highly regarded and independent consultancy specialising in the provision of services in ecology, Aboriginal heritage, and historic heritage. We are seeking archaeologists for both Aboriginal and historic archaeological excavations with the possibility for short-term full-time contracts starting January 2023. All levels of experience will be considered.

We are an independent consultancy which provides expert advice and services in historic and Aboriginal cultural heritage and ecology. We have a strong commitment to maintaining the high standards that have made us the consultancy of choice for our many clients, and we are currently seeking Aboriginal and historic archaeologists for multiple archaeological excavations starting January 2023 and likely running until mid-2023. There is potential for the right candidates for full-time short-term contracts to help with post excavation works including artefact sorting, cleaning, cataloguing, and scanning and digitising archaeological records.

 

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with:

•                     Minimum of an honours degree or higher, with a focus on Aboriginal/historic archaeology

•                     valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or interstate equivalent

•                     good communication skills

•                     ability to work to deadlines

•                     ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience:

•                     experience in Aboriginal and historic archaeological excavation

•                     knowledge and experience with artefact cataloguing

•                     working knowledge and understanding of NSW legislation in Aboriginal and Historic heritage

•                     4WD experience

•                     first Aid Training

•                     current driver’s licence
