The Tab feature provides access to a variety of tabs for Blues, Jazz, Country, Funk and Pop or you can import your own Tabs in as long as they are in GuitarPro format. You can also drag the Tab from the instrument and drag it straight into your DAW.

The Articulations sampled for Ample Bass Upright are Sustain, Mute, Natural Harmonic, Hammer on & Pull off, Legato Slide and Slide in & Slide out. The Poly legato feature along with the ability to play at any speed, pitch or velocity makes for some pretty amazing realism in your playing. Again, if you have any of the other Amplesound guitars or basses, this will be familiar territory.

The Settings Tab allows you to drill down further on things like tuning, max voices, velocity sensitivity, sample cycle mode and MIDI guitar settings. A word of caution: refer to the manual before making any changes here if you are not sure.

Trying to truly express the sound of an instrument in a review is difficult at best. Every instrument is a personal choice for a musician. What I can say about Ample Bass Upright is that I am really impressed with the sound, the sculpting capability and the functionality. It can roll both as either a straight acoustic or electric or some flavor of both. If you own other plugins by Amplesound, the familiarity of the interface eliminates the learning curve, although truth-be-told, the interface is very intuitive to begin with.

I have downloaded and installed from three different sites but still cannot get it to work. I can record the Ample Bass from the Cakewalk keyboard but would really like to record some of the presets in TAB mode. I think you are right Nigel it just can't be done with the free version as I have tried for hours and hours and searched the internet for hours also. It is a fabulous sounding bass so maybe I should buy the full version.

Cakewalk will start recording onto the MIDI track as the Ample Bass performs the tab while it is in sync with the host transport. When the tab has finished playback, stop the transport. Your newly recorded MIDI clip of the tab is ready for you to work with. ?

I chose the Ample Metal Ray5, an emulation of the Stingray 5. It originally only came with a "picked" sample set, so it was rather aggressive sounding. Which is good when you need it. But last year Ample released a free "fingered" sample set for Metal Ray5, so the bass is now a bit more versatile 5-string.

String Roll Editor: can clearly show fingering, articulation, expression, and even playing noise. Every note has 8 attributes - pitch, velocity, length, off velocity, articulation, legato, vibrato and bend, with which you can make a delicate lick.

Multiple Formats Conversion: The conversion between Riff, MIDI, Tab multiple formats, Every fingering, articulation, expression, humanizations will be automatically converted to MIDI keyswitch and controller.

I wanted to use the product as a upright bass sound in Logic Audio. I bought it on the 10th of May 2020 and finally on the 9th June [today] I gave up on the product. I think I have downloaded it correctly. Unfortunately I have not managed to hear this product. It has been too dificult for me to use. I paid ***US$ for it. That is lost and I put it down to experience and will use the sounds Logic have provided in future. I understand that the company is not English speaking, and I don't expect everyone to be English speaking, but the instructions in English were so unclear and confusing that I cannot waste any more time with it. I have music to make.

AmpleSound makes incredible sounding acoustic, electric and bass guitar VSTs. I have always been a GS Strum fan for their ability to put proper guitar voicing and strums on a keyboard. However, I was never fully satisfied with Strum voicing because is not based on actual samples. AmpleSound, on the other hand, is based on samples with detailed and extensive articulations. Fingering noises, release noises and random buzz are all also available, have their own volume controls, and seem to be scripted well. They can be used to add realism, or turned down for a cleaner performance. Although some very detailed things like the tuning or volume of individual samples or the dividing points between velocity layers can be configured, the keyswitches for changing articulations are fixed.
