Yes, The Bellinger Steel Planing Form with Swelled Butt does both types in
the same Planing form; i.e. use the planing forms as per standard and then
you can open up the first 15 inches out to almost any swelled measurement
desired.
When the strips are Milled, you can use a 60 degree check measure mint
device (from memory $8 bucks - called a "Centre Gauge") to see if there is
any light peeking thru or when you run it up and down the strip, 10 out of
10 times it is a dead true angle all ready for final taper hand planing.. I
will throw in one of these gauges with the price of the Bellinger planing
form. Swelled Butt version is $1,050 USD and STD is $750 but I am only
charging $750 total. I still have the original crate that the form arrived
in from Bellinger's from USA. See above photo attachments.

Hello Everyone, I am officially out of the Bamboo fly rod making business as
of this week. I have been quite ill these past 12 months and now things are
ramping up and I am now much worse.. I tried doing some planing last week
and surprising even me, I did quite well. Then the next morning, I couldn't
get out of bed let alone lift or use my arms and back and neck was frozen
solid, so I think I was just kidding myself. I glues them up yesterday and
made an absolute mess of the whole damn thing. SO I GIVE UP! Please see
below; The first Ad' I placed on the Fly life forum under Rod Building last
night. So, I will start working out how to post photos on the forum and I
will start to post everything. For you Gentlemen, it is much easier as I
can just simply put up the photos on these pages. I will put everything up
for sale and 99% of it all is brand new. Particularly the components. Please
just send me a private email if you wish to remain anonymous and I will
email you any pics that you request. Some measuring tools etc I will keep
till last as some components will need check measures such as Bellinger Reel
seat barrel internal diameters and various guides, etc. Please feel free to
ask any questions, none are too silly as we all (or most of us) are
beginners. I will quote prices that I was charged after some protracted
negotiations but feel free to make offers and I will not be offended as long

Due to a very poor health story which is too long and complicated to discuss
on this forum but suffice to say that I will be selling a complete new
Bamboo Making Rod Shop's equipment and tools and components. These consist
of mostly Bellinger tools and components, Golden Witch and Wagner etc. I
will start of with the Bellinger "Little Giant Rougher" [60 degree MILL] .
Here (attached) is the link to Bellinger's web site showing all the
Bevelling Mill's details. A note worthy of mention here is, the USA power
Voltage is 110v and of course we run 240v so I have had Bellinger set up a
Power Converter to use the Machine over here and it works a treat! No loss
of power at all. In fact, I can run a 2 piece rod with 2 tips (18 strips in
all) through this Mill in under 15 minutes. This Beveller will produce
Perfect 60 degree strips ready for final planing in the Steel form from
rough flat strips. This saves a lot of work and wear and tear on your planes
etc etc. And in one solid morning's work, you will have 18 strips ready for
rough binding. I have only used this machine for 3 rods. It is Brand New.
The power converter will cost $60 and a spare cutting wheel is $200. And a
Bargain for $1395.00 AUD.

item. However this may take some time so I will get started and build up a

anything you can pick up in a GUNNs or BUNNINGs Hardware stores but mainly
what you would have to import from the USA at a very good price as I will
lose on all the postage and freight costs from the States and this also
includes the Customs and Duties fees etc etc. The freight from Bellinger
alone was $1600 and Customs duties and GST etc was a further $850 dollars
BUT I will absorb all these costs.. So, you will save a lot of money right
there. I do have a spare "NEW" cutting wheel for sale also; Custom 60 degree
long life reversible carbide $200. These can be reversed for double the
life. Each wheel on one side is good for 200 2pc, 2 tip rods. So this
machine set-up is good for 800 Bamboo rods before a new cutter is needed
from Bellinger. Please email or telephone for photos of any item, be it,
tools, components, and any other equipment. I have enough Bamboo split
dried (5 years) for about 100 rods and enough components for 10 to 20 Bamboo
fly rods and Graphite fly rods AND my stash of SNAKE BRAND is the older
CARBON STEEL round eye snakes in both Nickel Silver and dark colour, enough
Pearsall's Silks for 100 rods in 14 different colours . I also have a custom
built Gas flaming and tempering rig. If you are a new maker, I have
everything you would need to produce fine Bamboo fly rods. Please ring me if
you want the lot and I will cease advertising.

as I have spent the last 30 hours at the Royal Adelaide Hospital as My wife
Susan was rushed in the and had taken a turn for the worse but is now quite
stable so I have come home to shower and catch up on some sleep and grab
some clean clothes for her etc.

sets and Golden Witch sets and their TICH Strippers (superb) I only have
about a dozen TICH left (9mm, 10mm, & 12mm) 300 or 400 cork rings (AA+FLOR,
FLOR and A class) about 100 of each. 10 dozen spools of Pearsall's Silks (
in boxes of 12) but I will sell a mixed color box if you like) I have 1 full
box of transparent white that is about 60 years old but perfect in every
respect. And lots of tools and jigs and etc etc.. I have just now sold the
Bellinger Lil' GIANT Bevelling Mill. And I haven't even opened the other
emails yet and since I started typing this email I have received over ten or
more new emails and enquiries about Bamboo Culms. (I just hope I have enough
as I understand there is no more coming in this year? (This is what I heard
late last week) So the Bamboo Culms are going to be likem Diamonds,
particularly of this quality. I also heard there is some 2nd and 3rd grade
stuff available but there is nothing like what I have here where you get 2
or more rods out of a Culm.
