Lovethis thing, this is the 8th iteration and I have been using for 3 of them and upgrading regularly.

Switching fully to USB c is so appreciated, even the connection between the plates it is perfect

This is my first experience with a split/ergo keyboard of any kind and I couldn't have chose a better board - I purchased two, one was a birthday gift for a friend and the other for myself. It has been nearly 1 month since the boards arrived and my friend and I have both got rid of our old boards and strictly prefer the iris at this point. One comment i would like to make is one of the boards had an RGB node that was faulty causing some weird RGB issues, I reached out to customer service about the issue and they had a new board in the mail within the hour with a return label included. the customer service and the product itself both get a 10/10 in my books.

My only issue was one of the 10k resistor leads was not on its pad (luckily I had flux/solder wick but just check for anything and they will probably send you a fixed PCB). The last time I was in the market for a new keeb things were a lot different; there were a dearth of good mx style clickies (blue is not good). My daily driver became a Viterbi rev. 1 with Matias clicks. Now with hot swap sockets, I can try all the awesome new clickies on the market?

Could not ask for a better first-build experience. Everything fit together perfectly, switches lined up between the plate and PCB without effort, and the completed build feels solid. Add that the reduction in hand strain not to mention incredible style and I couldn't ask for a better board. The hot swaps make it easy to play with different switches and I didn't have to stress over soldering.

The Iris has gone through 8 revisions so far, and it can be hard to remember the difference between revisions. So, we've put together some info about what those differences are so you know what to get.

Revisions 3-7 all have ATmega32u4 controllers already soldered onto the board, so you don't have to add your own. This also means you can't add your own controller like the nice!nano to make it wireless.

Interconnect cable refers to the cable used to connect both halves of the keyboard together so they can communicate with each other. TRRS is commonly used in split keyboards and was the cable used for Rev. 2-4 of the Iris, but we've migrated to using USB-C for interconnect, starting from Rev. 5 and on.

The Rev. 6-8 have MX hotswap sockets pre-installed on the board. The Rev. 6 and 8 have hotswap sockets made by Kailh, while the ones on the Rev. 7 are made by Outemu or Kailh, depending on PCB batch. The sockets only accept MX-compatible switches, so no Alps or Choc switches.

If you have Rev. 2, 3, or 4 PCBs and purchased a case/plates for them at the same time before the LE/PE designations were made, they are the LE version. The LE middle layers available are only compatible with Rev. 3 & 4 due to the placement of the port holes.

Background: Incarceration of the iris is a potential complication following trabeculectomy in primary congenital glaucoma. Although this complication is mentioned in the literature, nothing is reported about the technique of surgical revision.

Patient: In a patient with primary congenital glaucoma we had to perform surgical revision of the anterior chamber, because progressive pupil peaking had developed after trabeculectomy and the optical axis had been obstructed. Simple resolving of uveal tissue from the incarceration site was not possible; the iris incarceration had to be cut under gonioscopic control.

Methods: IRIS Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight) patients who underwent GDD insertion between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2018 were included. Various demographic and clinical factors were collected. Kaplan-Meier survival plots, Cox proportional-hazard models utilizing Firth's Penalized Likelihood, and multivariate linear regression models were used. The main outcome measures were hazard ratios (HR) and beta coefficient (β) estimates.

Conclusions: The size and scope of the IRIS Registry allows for detection of subtle associations between risk factors and GDD revision or removal surgery. The aforementioned demographic and clinical factors may all have an impact on GDD longevity and can inform the treatment options available for glaucoma patients.

We are pleased to announce an important milestone as the full launch of Rev.04 has been recently deployed on the IRIS Portal according to the Rev.04 specificities outlined in the IRIS Certification Performance assessment:2023.

The implementation and transition to Rev.04 will start as per plan in one week on 01/04/2024 as all auditors have successfully participated and have completed the examination to become an IRIS approved Rev.04 auditor.

The IRIS Audit-Tool Web Application and Rev.04 assessment sheet have also been deployed and are now available for purchase on the IRIS Portal shop here. Companies can use the cloud based solution to prepare for the readiness review and perform internal audits to do the gap analysis when starting. Certification Bodies are in the process of ordering the Audit-Tool Web credentials for their auditors in order to perform the Rev.04 audits.

Excited to get your hands on the latest IRIS Certification Rev.04 templates? Click the link here to grab them. Just a heads up, you'll need to log in first before accessing the download area on the IRIS Portal.

To get detailed explanations on the new Rev.04 Assessment Sheet including the KO and Customer Perception items, the new Audit-Tool Web application, information on the transition phase and much more, please register now to the upcoming free UNIFE Webinar on the IRIS Certification Rev.04 Start that will take place on 08/04/2024 from 10:00-11:00 CEST REGISTER HERE

When logging into the IRIS Portal for the first time since the update, you will be requested to review and confirm the updated T&Cs. Once done, companies can then navigate to the edit master data page to:

Once completed, you shall confirm that the data is complete and valid for the next upcoming audit. Only then can your certification bodies plan rev.04 audits with their respective rev.04 approved auditors.

Once the certification body validates the appointment, companies are then able to upload the data package. Once an appointment has been validated by your certification body, you will be able to upload the data package.

1. In order to provide all interested parties with further time to prepare for the audit, we have decided to shift the start of the rev.04 certification audits to the 1st of April 2024. This alignment now envisages a harmonised start of rev.04 independent of the audit type. Below you will find the revised rev.04 implementation timeline:

Following the publication of the specific rail requirements for business management systems under ISO 22163, UNIFE is pleased to announce the publication of its IRIS Certification Performance Assessment:2023. In conjunction with the IRIS Certification Technology, these constitute the IRIS Certification Revision 04 system that will come into force as of 1st January 2024. The main aim of this evolution is to simplify the process of certification and make IRIS certification more efficient, streamlined and accessible.

The ISO 22163:2023 is owned by ISO. It contains the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard and the supplemental rail-specific requirements. With a full ISO standard, we reach a new level of worldwide acceptance. This is a significant advantage for the railway industry. The IRIS Performance Assessment:2023 is owned by UNIFE and contains all the relevant rules relating to assessment methodology and the certification process. These are the rules for achieving and maintaining IRIS Certification recognition.

The IRIS Certification technology includes the IRIS Portal, Database and Audit-Tool web application and plays an integral part of the IRIS Certification scheme. It is used for recording and evaluating data as well as generating standardized reports of IRIS Certification audits. UNIFE will soon release the newly implemented advanced web-based audit tool for auditors and organisations. The IRIS Unit has been expanded to accommodate the increased workload and future inquiries.

With this new revision, previously ineligible such as distributors and suppliers involved in turnkey operations can now apply to be certified. IRIS continues to grow with a significant increase in the number of IRIS Portal account holder registrations.

The new revision also includes a simplified version of IRIS Certification for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Reduced documentation requirements and a simplified maturity level in the IRIS assessment sheet constitute lower barriers to entry. Simplified IRIS is to be used as a stepping stone for those organisations that were previously not able achieve IRIS Certification.
