Could someone help me with this problem? I have nothing changed, but today, I have suddenly  this message.

Stupid for an actively to-do project....

Thanks for any hint!

Hi,

that's an error the vm-frontend doesn't catch yet. It occurs if your VM does not get a network interface.
Make sure that the network setting in VirtualBox is set to "bridged" and restart the VM.

And do a clean start of the VM, no "suspend" or what.

I've seen this problem if my all LAN interfaces on the host system are deactivated.  Maybe activating one of them would do it?

pity, it is unfortunately not the solution, all interfaces are active.

Volker,

Are you able to reach the VM by IP (ssh) from the host?

Hello Ashant,

i have moved the VM to another Laptop and there I have no problems. Curios.  I try reaching the IP today evening, the laptop is not reachable at the moment.

Hi,

and THERE you seem to have the problem! If laptop's network card is down, VM will run into trouble. Btw, is your laptop connected to a WLAN router? In case of bridged networking, please make sure that the router allowes connections from "new" MAC addresses (the one of the VM!).

Ah, and when ssh-ing into the vm, don't use the root account. Use oxidvm@ instead (root ssh login will spawn the VM frontend, also via SSH).
