Living in or out of college

Hi all,

I will start an individual NIH-Oxford GPP in the UK this Fall. I’d be
grateful for advice on living "out" of my college (Wolfson) to live
closer to my lab in Headington. I like the idea of being within
walking distance of the lab since I will be there every day, likely at
odd hours. I don’t want to miss out on the college community, but I
am thinking it would be a lot fewer bus trips to Wolfson for events,
than to Headington for work. Also, I have a family so I may not have
quite as much need for being in the social hub ;-). Any advice would
be greatly appreciated.
