I was wondering does the program award students with a PhD or D. Phil?
I thought it was a PhD program but I think you have to apply to D Phil
programs at Oxford/Cambridge. If some receive one while others receive
the other does anyone know if most students receive a PhD or a D. Phil
coming out of the program? I have heard that people in the US view D.
Phil's differently than PhD. Do you think that is the case?

I believe Oxford awards D. Phils and Cambridge awards PhDs. Not entirely sure.

British grad work is viewed slightly differently than American grad work, but it has nothing to do with the name of the degree. British grad students don't take coursework, but in this program you have the opportunity to supplement your research with coursework if you wish to. Also, your publication record after graduating will speak volumes greater than whether you have a PhD or D. Phil
