Negotiating Catenae and Catena Research Conference, 4th June, KU Leuven
KU Leuven Huis van tSestich (Naamsestraat 69, room 02.10)
Conveners: Meredith Danezan, Christina Kreinecker, Emanuele Scieri, Reinhart Ceulemans
Catena research is a rich and simulating domain, gathering contributions from a variety of disciplines, including manuscript studies, patristic exegesis, Byzantine literature, Septuagint scholarship, and New Testament textual criticism. While scholars working in these areas are generally aware of one another’s work, meaningful collaboration remains limited, and a cohesive network dedicated to catena research has yet to emerge. Greater cooperation, particularly at the early stages of research, would significantly benefit the field, especially in advancing our understanding of the dynamics of catena literature. This workshop aims to bring together the catena expertise currently present in Leuven, reflecting ongoing research across several institutes and departments, including LECTIO, Biblical Studies, and Greek Studies. A particular focus will be on sharing and comparing insights gained from recent and ongoing work on individual biblical books within a single catena tradition, with the goal to explore how their findings can inform and enrich one another.
Attendance is free but registration is required. You can register by sending an email to meredith...@kuleuven.be.
For abstracts and more information see here.
