My question during a session this morning was "Where do people go for
help?"

We get lots of folks using WordPress, for many different reasons, at
many different skill levels. Having one meetup that covers code,
plugins, social media, businesss, making money and every topic under
the sun would probably be a recipe for disaster. So what is an easy
plan for moving forward?

My thought was to have a place we could get a "community help desk"
going. The idea being that you come with a specific problem, and we
have 2 hours to help you solve the problem. All the problems get
written on a whiteboard of a big piece of paper, and everyone pairs up
to try and solve the problem. If your problem is solved, you find
someone to pair up with and help them in kind. This cycle continues
until the help desk event is finished.

Not all problems will be technical, or design-related, or business
related - you might even be able to solve this problem yourself, but
you don't have time to dive that deep. It's a wise man who knows when
to ask for help.

This is certainly not the only idea, and if it never happens, I'm OK
with that. I just wanted to get the conversation going.

I think thats a very generous concept and I'd love to participate and
help out fellow WP users. However most users present problems to me
that can be solved in a few minutes so perhaps we can split this into
a 1 hr presentation (basic plugin dev, theme showcasing, etc) and 1 hr
help desk. Perhaps these presentations will answer some questions
ahead of time or even raise new ones.

If your problem cannot be solved in the time allotted, it's probably
time to call a professional.
