Proposed Agenda Items for Saturday 1/14 Meeting

The first meeting of the transportation working group will occur on
Saturday 1/14, at noon, at 60 Wall St. I would like to propose the
following agenda items for the meeting-

-Transferring metro card responsibility and budget from housing
working group
-Selecting qualified driving point people for zip car cards
-Select qualified individuals with vehicles to support as
transportation point people
-Select (2) financial point people
-Select (2) metro card point people
-Designate an individual/group to bottom line a vehicle donation
breakout group
-Approve language for GA Proposal

If all the mesures pass through the consensus process then here is the
current language for a possible GA proposal:



Ga proposal:
Transferring metrocard budget from the housing working group to the
transportation working group. All current metrocard distribution
operations will continue as normal.
The transportation working group requests additional funding from the
occupy wall street general fund for the purpose of facilitating
reliable transportation for OWS. A portion of funds will be allocated
to drivers who will utilize vehicle rental services to provide
additional transportation for the movement when requested by occupiers
and other working groups. Occupiers who already own their own vehicles
and are willing to donate their time will also be supported. The
transportation working group has already set up a hotline which, if
this proposal passes, will allow occupiers to have a way of requesting
transportation for their various needs. The transportation working
group has already created a breakout group which has been tasked with
soliciting donations of vehicles which can then be used to bring down
the expense of simply renting vehicles. The transportation working
group also requests a small food budget for drivers whose duties do
not allow them to attend regular meal times.
Budget: monthly-
$1500 zip car memberships and rentals
$500 food (prepaid cards)
$2000 U-Haul rentals
$1000 Gas (prepaid cards)
$1000 vehicle insurance, maintenance and equipment

Total: $6000 /month

After looking into ZipCar plans, this budget might not quite be
enough. I think the budget I will propose will be:
$2000 zip car memberships and rentals

$500 food (prepaid cards)
$2000 U-Haul rentals
$1000 Gas (prepaid cards)

$1500 vehicle insurance, maintenance and equipment
