Subject: [stopmassincarceration] Alert! Protest
Criminal Ray Kelly, NYPD Commissioner

Alert! Protest Criminal Ray Kelly, NYPD Commissioner
When: Thursday, January 10 at 7:30 pm
Where: 92nd Street YWCA at 92nd Street &
Lexington Avenue, east side Manhattan, #5 train to 86th Street

Come demonstrate outside the 92 Street Y where
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly will be defending the
NYPD’s wholesale assault on civil liberties in
the name of fighting terrorism and crime. Ray
Kelly oversees the perpetration of a slow
genocide against Black and Latino people through
the racist, illegal and unconstitutional outrage
of Stop-and-Frisk and mass incarceration. He is
the criminal, not the hundreds of thousands of
youth that he and the NYPD have criminalized,
feeding many into the pipeline of mass incarceration.

Ray Kelly has consciously set out to terrorize
Black and Latino youth. Of the 684,330 people
stopped and frisked in 2011, 86% were Black or
Latino, the great majority were youth, and 90%
were not even given a ticket. They were stopped
and frisked for the crime of being young and
Black or Latino. State Senator Eric Adams said,
"There's one quote Commissioner Kelly told me
that I'll never forget. He stated, the reason we
use stop-and-frisk and target the group that we
do is because we want all people who fit that
group to feel that any time they leave their
house they can be searched by the police.” Kelly
should have admitted that he wants them to feel
that at anytime they can end up like Ramarley
Graham, Shantel Davis, Sean Bell, Noel Polanco or
Reynaldo Cuevas unarmed and shot dead by the NYPD.

Bring your signs about stop-and-frisk. We'll have
banners, buttons, and whistles.

Mass Incarceration + Silence = Genocide!

Please. We urgently need some sort of
sustainable, collectively run system for
communicating event announcements between NYC
left factions and groups with at least a bit of
thoroughness. Help figure out how to do that.
