This sample historic district study report, from the Ferry Hills Historic District, in Rochester Hills, gives us a good sense of what our own report should look like. Especially illuminating is the brevity of entries in the resource list. Our proposed district is much larger than this one, of course, but even taking that into account, the scope of the document is substantially less than what I had expected.--Gary

Hello All,
My guess is that there is less research done because there was not the information available. When I asked Nan Taylor how much to include in the research, her reply was to be as detailed as possible, and that is what I have been trying to accomplish.
This report from Rochester area, covers only 12 buildings and encompasses only one business. Might explain its brevity.

Lorraine, I was merely noting that the required documentation is less than I had anticipated, making it more likely that the preliminary report might be completed at an early date. I think we should include all available information that we are confident is accurate.
As I noted, the Rochester district is smaller than ours. What surprised me was the brevity of individual entries, some of them only a line or two.--Gary
