Hello everyone. I have sent a similar though slightly edited message to the ST list, but in the interest of asking players for a little positive meta-gaming, I want to pass along the below for players to read and incorporate into their RP going forward. So! Have at.
Important note: Nothing below is binding. This is not a council plot prop. This is my response to a game's big plot in which players overwhelmingly used influence, faction membership, their positions, and more to draw favors, boons, resources, and more. This is PLAYER driven actions and the below are my suggested RP notes for my team, STs, and players, as a result of massive player action.
To be super clear: I have for the entirety of my 3 years so far, asked STs to come to me anytime they have a cool idea they want Coord support for. (Heck even bad ideas) and I will fully back them, toss resources their way, and back the fallout/consequences of those actions with real world (IC of course) results.
This is exactly that, so please keep in mind that STs have the power to request and get support for similar style plots/events/whatever. All you gotta do is ask and have a dialogue.
Anyway! Results!
General Info-
At the conclusion of the New York conflict against the "THING" many of the Elder combatants have gone to ground either nursing serious wounds, dealing with repercussions, or plotting against some of the Non-Sabbat who showed their faces at the fight, old grudges die hard they say. As such, some of the higher level clergy/leadership of various groups are a bit harder to pin down or get word to.
Pander Movement-
Answering a call to war the Panders sent a great deal of forces to the event, and never one to miss out on a fight the PM's went hard as fuck. However, they also bled themselves out. Every Pander Movement soldier who showed up (NPC) died or is MIA.
Ultra Cons-
UC's only lost about 25% of the forces that they sent, however they spared no expense. Their coffers should be damaged and drained for a while to come.
Black Hand-
The Hand lost 25% of its forces, and while that isn't % wise more than the UC's, the Hand has WAY less people. They are specialists not the Infantry. This should be RP'd and outlined from a position of the Hand scaling back and being a lot more selective with its deployment and actions for a while to come.
Status Quo-
Having lost 25% of what they sent the Status Quo has received a very harsh lesson about why most of their pursuits are political. They should likewise be scaling back and withdrawing from front line conflict opportunities. A heavy focus on discussions, politicking, and de-escalation. Still, with their Faction Leader on the front line, it's hard to deny their presence.
Moderates-
With one of their leaders being at the forefront, they received some of the least damage. I think this gives the Moderates a boost in confidence they should be carrying forward. While many leaders were present, having lost near the least of all the factions who deployed, they might have a little chip on their shoulder about how poorly others might have performed.
Crimson Horde and Loyalists-
Minimal casualties for groups well known for massing numbers. They came, they saw, and they kicked ass. No major changes.
Occult Underground-
The OU did not commit any bodies to the fight, though assuredly OU members were there. However the OU did crack open its coffers and bank rolled a massive amount of magical effort to the fight. Rituals, magic items, wards, fetishes, and more. The OU is going to need to withdraw and recover their storehouses, but they were VERY present in this event in a positive way.
Children of Dracon-
Shockingly absent from a war against a perceived Tzmicie Antediluvian. There are and should be some feelings about their lack of involvement and presence in the conflict.
Inquisition-
This wasn't really their fight all things considered. Some of their members showed up, and there is rumor that a few (NPC) Inquisitors were in the horde swinging away, but no hard confirmations. There might be some bad blood at their lack of involvement, but there is also something to be said that their absence may have allowed New York to call for aid it might not otherwise have been able to. (Outside Sabbat Forces)
Orthodoxy-
A valiant and potent showing for the new Faction. The Orthodoxy, while young, is composed of many seasoned veterans of the former factions. Having only lost about 15% of their commited forces, they came out of the fight doing okay. Noteworthy is they did focus more heavily on Ritae, spiritual well being, and support than actual conflict, they nevertheless had one of their own Faction Leaders on the front lines.
