Hey folks! We are working to spell this out more simply and even mechanically in the upcoming packet we are working on. But I want to express something that I think gets glossed over or forgotten a lot,
The Factions exist as political and actionable bodies of like minded Cainites with agendas, resources, and means to see things done. They have political capital, resources, influence, and bodies that can be called on, utilized, and requested for individual, regional, or global needs. Be that personal plot or otherwise.
Usage of these resources begins at home with your ST team. We (the Coord) can't give you anything your STs don't allow us to give you. Even anything as mundane as leaning on your Moderate rank to ask for help in growing an influence, needs your STs approval.
The process should ideally look something like this:
Jimmy Two Shoes needs access to some guns. He does not possess any Influence or immediate access to guns himself but he is a Regionally Important member of the Pander Movement. The player then asks their STs if they are fine with him using his Faction Membership as a means to request some firearms support, the STs can then either just give it the thumbs up and provide it, or they can message Team Sabbat and ask us "Hey, is Jimmy Two Shoes good to ask for access to the Arsenal background for an upcoming fight night?" Team Sabbat will give it a thumbs up or thumbs down based on a number of potential factors, but will always work with the Staff and player to help them make it make sense.
What factors do we consider for the thumbs up or down? PC Activity, PC Rank, ST Opinion, Frequency of Requests, Favors/Rewards still owed, and any extenuating factors from the Global Meta. (Like the recent kick up in KONY reducing some factions resources temporarily due to player action.)
So, I welcome any questions on this in the coord-ama-channel on the Discord, or even in this email thread, but please, don't be afraid to ask and make use of your factions!
