Greetings One World by Night,

I’d like to thank all the games and players that participated in the 2017 Head Coordinator Election, as well as Luke Philippi for his time and interest in One World by Night’s Head Coordinator role. We made ourselves as available as possible to the players, council members, and storytellers of One World by Night and thank you all for your time and questions.

I greatly appreciate my two Assistant Head Coordinators, Ben Colbert and Bruno Benitz. Their generous support and patience throughout the 2016 term is greatly cherished. Their positivity and strength helped me endure some of the rougher times.  Their input and the diversity of our opinions and ability to still maintain a strong, pleasant and valued working relationship with one another made the role I retain within our organization less of a burden as we shared the good, bad, sad, and hard times teams often experience. Be it something from our ordinary lives or our World of Darkness game lives, we succeeded together as a team. I’m lucky and thankful for their support. While this made up the core of the 2016 Executive Team, I must also acknowledge and show appreciation for the members of our growing sub coordinator team – Christopher Riccardino, Maja Zacarra, Hoss Periginon, and Brian Kapraun. Their assistance helped make a lot of what we did over the year possible and I thank them for their efforts and support.  And of course, honorable mentions to Peter Morter.

Last, certainly not least, our One World by Night 2016 Coordinator Team. Many of these folks are interested in returning to their roles they performed in 2016 and are striving to make 2017 even greater if they are reelected.

So far this year we’re seeing some nice turnout for those interested in volunteering. Many new faces, and some seasoned faces are expressing interest and desire to run. This is a refreshing and exciting, and most importantly, an opportunity for all to step up and offer their time and dedication to further One World by Night’s progress and journey through our shared storyland.

After the election cycle for 2017 is complete, I have some work to get back to doing and I also have a bunch of other things that will be regularly occurring. I’ll be attempting a once a month video blog, a once a month discussion topic (possibly twice a month) which will be discussed on both Council email list and Glass Council Facebook group; for those interested in what the org is doing, how we do it, why we’re doing it. These efforts are for obtaining and gaining a better perspective on One World by Night’s variety of needs and diverse personalities. My goal is to get us talking and keep us talking.

This year, we’re going to work on becoming a stronger community and promote communication, be it the positive, or dissent, we’re all in this together and the time for acknowledging one another and attempting to break boundaries that divide us which built up for years.

My overall goal this year (separate from those already mentioned in discussion and my application) is to try and figure out – How can One World by Night better serve members and the chronicles they participate in and thrive in the future.

The next year is very promising, but it won’t be easy. It will be hard, like everything else we strive for. Every milestone achieved, even from before my time, did not happen overnight.  While we have yet to achieve perfect, we will not stop. We didn’t survive this long as an organization by being mediocre. We survived this long because we’re stubborn and care about our shared hobby. We didn’t and don’t do it because it is easy. We did it because it was hard. The difficulty of challenge is what  leads to self-improvement gaining in the wake of challenge and hardship knowledge and the ability to go on. It’s what built and strengthened the foundation on which we play and will continue to play on so long as we remember not to give up when things get tough.

Fellow One World by Night community members, thank you again and I look forward to serving our organization another year.

With admiration and respect,

Nicholas Lambaunas

Head Coordinator of One World by Night 2017
