Bill is at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester. Francis building, Fourth Floor, Room 121.
Bill has had surgery on his pelvis to realign the broken mess that it was. The titanium plates inserted look like the outline of a home plate in baseball. Joyce was showing me the before and after x-rays and both look scary.
Bill is in a fair amount of pain even with his pain meds. He was able to sit in a chair for about 1 hour and 20 minutes before being returned to his bed and relieve the pain that occurs while sitting. His doctors and rehab people want him to sit as much as he can to help with proper healing of his pelvis
Bill also had surgery on the middle of his spine. One of the vertebrae was badly broken. Two titanium rods were screwed into the vertebrae above and below the broken one for stability while healing.
Bill also has a broken arm and broken ribs. His left leg is numb because the doctors had to stretch his leg nerves in the pelvis area so they could put all the pieces back together in his pelvis.
Bill is fine with people coming to visit. I stayed for about 45 minutes and he was fatiguing quickly so I left so he could nap. Bill is also under no dietary restrictions. He is kind of craving a slice of pizza.
Bill's cell phone number is the same at
507-676-6120; however, his old phone is at the county and his new phone has no contact information. If you call or text please add your full name to the message so he knows who called/texted.
Bill will be moved out of his current room on Wednesday at the earliest. In my visit today I parked in the Generose parking lot south of the St. Mary's ER. The mezzanine level underground lets you walk to the Francis building and get on an elevator.
If anyone wants to visit Bill before Wednesday let me know. I'm open to tagging along.
