Some want an easier way to increase your taxes

STATE SENATORS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO MAKE TAX INCREASES EASIER

To raise taxes the Oklahoma state legislature is required by our constitution to have a 75% yes vote.  With the recent failure of the largest tax increase in Oklahoma history some state senators want to get the voters to lower that requirement to 60%.  SJR61 by Senator Kim David and SJR67 by Senator Ervin Yen have been submitted.  These Senate Joint Resolutions, if either passes would place before the voters of Oklahoma a measure to lower the tax increasing power of the state legislature to a 60% yes vote.  You can follow each resolution by clicking on the below links.
