Hi, I backed up my data. When I wiped my phone and tried to do a restore of the data it says it can't find it. Please advise on what to do.  It was backed up to the SD card.

Hi,

please make sure that you have the latest version of OvuView and you
are in Live mode. To make sure that your SD card was not wiped, please
use a file manager (e.g.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.explorer ) and
check that the /mnt/sdcard/OvuView/backup folder exists and contains
the backup file (*.ovu).

Best regards,
Ian

JOJO,

please, could you describe what part of the process had failed?
1. Have you found the OvuView folder on your SD card? -> Look for
/mnt/sdcard/OvuView or /mnt/sdcard-ext/OvuView
2. Have you backuped your data to email and could you open the
attached .OVU file on your new phone? Did it open OvuView to import
your data?

Best regards,
Ian

Some Android phones have two SD cards: one internal SD card and one
external SD card. OvuView on these phones currently backups to the
default SD card which is set in the settings of Android phone.
The two different OvuView locations are:
- /mnt/sdcard/OvuView or
- /mnt/sdcard-ext/OvuView

So there are two possible options:

A) your NEW phone has 2 SD cards and it searches for OvuView backup
files on the internal SD card. In this case you should change settings
to use the external SD card as default
B) your OLD phone had 2 SD cards and all the backups were saved into
the internal SD card. In this case, you can get the backup files from
the old phone using a USB cord.

We hope that your case is the A.

I had the same problem. Finally I tried opening the file on the SD card as a photo and my tablet gave me an option to open with ovuview. That worked for me.
