As long as you are signed in using the same Google account as you had
when you made your purchase, all you need to do is install/run OvuView
again, while connected to the internet over a reliable/fast wifi
connection, then go to OvuView's menu -> Feature Store. You should see
the 'restoring transactions' message appear. After waiting a few
seconds your store item's state should change from 'available' to
'purchased'.

Otherwise, add your 'original account' to your accounts in the Market
application and uninstall/reinstall Ovuview, then follow the steps in
the previous paragraph.

I have also recently changed phones from HTC EVO 4G to Samsung Galaxy
S2. I took the SD card out of my Evo and put it into my new phone. The
app shows as purchased, but my data is not retrieved. I did previously
have the app on my SD card as opposed to my phone. What do I need to
do to retrieve my data??? Thank you!

Elle,

if you have installed OvuView under the same Market account then you
don't have to buy any other features again. Just open the Feature
Store (through menu) with internet connection turned on and it will
restore your previous purchases.

There are more ways to move your data from your old phone to the new phone.

A. If you have Pro features, you can follow these steps:

** On old phone:
1. Backup your data to your own email address
** On new phone:
2. Install OvuView and go to Live mode (imporant!)
3. Open the email on the other phone and click on the attached backup
file. It will open OvuView and should import the data.

B. If you do not have Pro features:

** On old phone:
1. Backup to SD Card
** On new phone:
2. Install OvuView and go to Live mode (imporant!)
3. Put in the SD Card from the old phone
4. Select Restore from SD Card
5. If you new phone has an internal SD card too then it could happen
that OvuView is not able to find the files to restore. This is a
typical problem on phones having 2 sd-cards. The one SD card is
located on /mnt/sdcard and the other SD card is located in
/mnt/sdcard-ext . In this case, use a file manager (e.g. this
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.explorer ) to
copy OvuView files between one SD card to the other ( copy folder
/mnt/sdcard/OvuView to /mnt/sdcard-ext/OvuView )

To anyone else - If you haven't purchased Pro-features, its totally worth the $4. :) The data also easily exports to other devices.

Annemarie,

make sure that you have restored the correct/latest ovu file on your
new phone. If you send us your latest backup file (*.ovu) we can try
to restore it and analyze whether your missing data is caused by the
restore process, or the file was not a recent backup.

I can't seem to re-enable the pro features. It says "Restoring transactions.." when I try "Restore" from the Paid features section of the program, but it's still not pro. I'm using galaxy s3 and have purchased OvuView while using galaxy tab and with the same google account. I tried uninstall/reinstall the app, but it didn't help.

On some phone when you want to reinstall the app under a different
account the Google Play Store app can't handle that and will install
under the firstly selected account. Please, uninstall the app and try
to install it remotely from your web browser by selecting your device:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sleekbit.ovuview

(After installed continue with the Restore menu item)

Perhaps I haven't been clear: I have only one account (not multiple). Is it possible that it is a PlayStore problem? They don't really like users from Serbia. :(

Hi,
I used pro version, on samsung galaxy note.

I backup (mail and sd card, live mod) and restore my data but now I've got only a part of the pro version:

Personal's symptoms and personal's colors of symptoms only.

I can't see "cycles" ,doesn't have password ,can see statistic only for the month... :s

Hello.  I'm a pro user and backed my data up to gmail before getting a new phone (no SD card on old phone).  I've opened ovuview in live mode, but when i click on the attachment, a different program tries to open the data.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi,

you can either buy paid ovu version and send the data via email
(backup to email) on the old phone. Then on the new phone check the
received email - click the attachment and open the data with ovuview
app.

The other option (with the free version) is: attach your phone with
USB cable to your computer, go to /mnt/sdcard/ovuview/backup - choose
the most recent backup and send it via email. Then continue on the new
phone.

Hello ganni, please go to menu -> paid features -> from the menu
choose restore. This should restore your paid features.

Hi, I transferred my data from my old phone to my new one, but the data was compressed into one big 112-day cycle instead of separate months. How do I separate the data back to the way it was?

Hi! I didn't realize this was an option when I switched phones last summer, but since I'm tracking some ongoing conditions, I'd really like to have all of my data on the same phone. If I use the email backup method now, will that erase the last year of data from my new phone?

Hi there. I have changed network provider but kept my number and phone and during the transfer my data has disappeared. Any ideas what has happened and how I can get it back? I had 3 years of info which I will be upset to lose.. It know I have purchased the upgrade so I am somewhat bemused.

You needed to do a data backup to the SD card before changing anything on your phone. If you have done it in the past, you should be able to go to the restore option and click restore from SD card. Having the upgraded version doesn't backup your data automatically, you need to do that periodically yourself (i.e. I recommend backup to SD and to backup to email so you never lose your data).

I have tried this many times (i think) and the SD Card has my data and it says it restored the transactions but there is no data in the application.

I went and purchased it so I could back up to email and it worked.  For some reason when I said to back up to SD  the data wouldn't go to the SD so when I restored it the data was blank.

Hi,
I have a new phone after dropping my old one down the toilet. My old was an HTC one which does not have an sd card. As far as I know, it backed up to Google and drop box. I now don't know how to get my data on to my new phone (Sony Xperia z3). Please help as I need my old data back!

In these unfortunate cases if the above procedure does not help, your
only hope is to find one backup file (.ovu extension). If you find it,
you are lucky enough - just tap it and OvuView will pop-up to handle
the file (restore).

I followed your steps suggested (for free version)here and received a "successfully restored" message, but when I checked not all the data had been restored. Is there a website where we can log on to retrieve/restore data? Also, why does it have to delete the few days of data I had input before using restore?

I know this post is 4 years old, but I just had to say THANK YOU for the info on restoring - I was afraid that I was starting from scratch because my new phone has no external SD. However, thankfully I bought the Pro package and method A worked beautifully for me.

Hi,

I just restored my data to a new phone. I had pro on my old phone but after restoring the data, I no longer have pro. I did not buy pro the last time. I recieved it after having 5 friends install it using my link to access it at the play store.

I just updated my phone to Android 5.1 and now I am unable to restore the paid features. What can I do? Besides uninstalling and reinstalling, because I don't know when I last backed up my data. Thanks

Hello Cassandra, you can always backup your data on your SD-card. Then
you can try to reinstall OvuView. However, I do not think that it will
help. You should rather follow the aforementioned workaround (with
clearing the Play Store data).

I've gone through all the posts, I don't see the workaround for clearing the play store data. Could you tell me how to do that please? Or what exactly you mean by that. Thanks.

Hello. I use the paid version of your application. I really like this app. I recently bought a new phone. Paid version installed without problems. But there were problems with data recovery. On your old phone, I made up the data on your email. The new phone (Huawei Honor 6) I open my mail and I can not run the file, which is there. Hi, please make sure that you are opening the attachment with GMail
app. There might be some other email apps, which could fail handling
the attachment properly. If you still have problems, you can forward
the email with the attached backup to ovu...@sleekbit.com and we will
have a look at it.

Hi, I have verified that there is a purchase associated with your gmail account.

Could you please make sure that you are actually installing the app
under that account? I mean to have selected that account under the
'hamburger' icon in the upper left corner when you are downloading the
app via Play Store app.

I uninstalled and put back on the phone... Now working! Many apologies, i swear i did it twice the other night with no luck!
