Google Calendar integration

Hi there,

I love OvuView and have been singing its praises since I first started using it. More and more I find that I'd like to have Google Calendar integration so that my S.O. can easily track my cycle along with me.

Please a) take these thanks for developing a world class app and b) consider this a feature request for Google Calendar integration.

Erica, thanks for suggestion, we have been thinking about Google
Calendar sync for a year or so, but we find generic sync feature more
useful. Would the google calendar integration be more useful for you
than the sync feature? (the sync is accessing data from multiple
mobile devices - like a gmail account).

p.s. having integration with google calendar is not that hard to
implement comparing to sync feature - it is in fact sharing a read
only information in a dedicated google calendar. However, we still
prefer more robust solution - sync.

Hi Pavel,

Google Calendar integration would be much more useful for me. I'd like to use the built in sharing with Google Calendar so that I can easily share my cycle calendar with my husband. As he'd have no other reason to use the OvuView app other than to read my cycle calendar, a full sync between the app on our devices would be unnecessarily complex.

Google Calendar integration also allows for sharing the calendar to those who may not have an Android device (read: iPhone users) and allows for viewing the cycle calendar online when not on a mobile device. If ever I have to undergo fertility treatment, I could easily share the Google Calendar with my physician as well.

In summary, portability/transferability is more important than full sync to me.

OK, question for the public: would you like to see your data in Google
Calendar? So that you might share the calendar with specific people?
This is of course read-only access to your data. Would you prefer this
Google Calendar integration over fully fledged sync between mobile
devices?

This would be part of PRO feature set.

I already share my google calendar with my husband this would be a great way to share my ovuview data with him as well! (Having to tell him is a bit of a mood killer) The very very basic information he needs to know is at least what part of the cycle I am in, menstration end, expected ovulation date & DPO, (I have thought of just putting it into my calendar myself but, sometimes I am lazy =) if the app does it for me bonus!) extras would of course be specific symptoms details, sharing this via the google calendar that I already share would be fantastic! I don't need him adding symptoms... he would just call me crabby and that would not be fun or helpful when I am crabby LOL! Besides he can text me or communicate with me to add another symptom, that is not a big deal.

We are sorry, but you must understand that we have our daytime jobs,
and we work on OvuView in our free time. We would be more than happy
to release it soon, but we haven't promised any release date of this
feature, so you can't blame us for this.

google calendar integration would be truly wonderful.

it looks like your period tracker is the only one with a sleek holo based design, gcalendar integration would be the icing on the cake.

Here is a quote from Pavel's original response:

Perhaps you all might consider that telling your userbase a feature is "not hard to implement" then proceeding to ignore said feature request is not the best course of action. :) 

That said, through a series of unfortunate events, my phone got wiped of all its data yesterday. I now have no way to recover my OvuView data. If Google Calendar integration existed, I could just pull the data back from Google Calendar and I'd be all set. Now I have zero history of my cycle data.

Please strongly consider the "not that hard to implement" Google Calendar integration further.

Hi, I have to agree that exports to Google Calendar would be enough for most of users.

It solves many problems with full sync:
There is no need to have dedicated server for this since Google does it for us.
There is no need to implement not-so-easy two-way sync...
There is no need to have online access to html5 web app - offline support is a must!

I have no problem to support developers with fee for pro version. I prefer one time charge over monthly payments for obvious reasons.

Has the Google Calendar sync been implemented? I use DigiCalendar and I see there's the Ovuview's one. I try to add it but DigiCalendar replies I have to add the calendar from OvuView but it is impossible...
