Altering the dimensions of an existing opening has to be done with the utmost consideration. Taking a window and using its existing width to bring it further down to the floor (aka cutdown) is something that Nova Exteriors can take on. Please note that this is exclusively when cutting through siding.

An alteration of an opening (door or window) making it wider than an existing opening moves into changing the structure of an existing exterior wall. This will require architectural drawings, permits, and inspections. All of these will have a tremendous impact on the cost. Please note that we do not make openings wider.

Nova Exteriors is not set up to perform business in this capacity and cannot create an alteration to widen an opening. Please keep this in mind when entertaining other contractors to get this type of work done. Further, consider electrical and HVAC as well as what may be on the outside of the exterior wall where you are doing the alteration because they may have a direct impact on the cost. This article describes nova-agent (Linux) and Rackspace agent (Microsoft

Windows), which are required services used in Rackspace public cloud

virtualized servers. For brevity, both agents are referred to as nova-agent

in this article, but all statements apply equally to nova-agent and Rackspace

agent.

Nova-agent is a required service for all virtualized servers in the Rackspace

public cloud. Thus OnMetal is excluded. The service interacts with XenServer. According

to the Rackspace developer docs,

which works for Linux or Windows. Citrix also has packages for the common

Linux distros.

Builds take a long time, but eventually complete. The resulting server has the

same IP address information and password as the server used to create its

image. Thus, networking doesn't work, but you can log in by using the console.

If the source server was deleted but you know the root password of the source

server, log in to the new server by using the console and manually set the IP

address information. Then log in and fix nova-agent.

If starting the nova-agent service doesn't work, you can troubleshoot by looking

at the nova-agent logs. The newest version of nova-agent is now available in EPEL

and Rackspace's internal, Ubuntu operating system, and Debian repositories. Typically, package

installation commands (yum install nova-agent or apt-get install nova-agent)

should install or update the agent.

If you're using an imported image of a distro that supports cloud-init, you might

find it easier to use cloud-init instead of nova-agent. This requires setting

the following metadata on your imported image:

The 2.x branch of nova-agent is a complete rewrite. We recommend the 2.x branch,

unless you are using an OS not supported by the 2.x branch (such as FreeBSD).

We don't recommend upgrading from 1.x to 2.x because there is nothing to be

gained, and the process is extremely complex.

If you would like the agent to rerun bootstrap.cmd on your next reboot, you

need to set the registry key cloud-automation-run in SOFTWARE/Rackspace

to any value. This causes that file to be rerun on next reboot. This is useful

for setting up golden images with autoscale.

just purchased a Nova 35, once machine was ready to go proceeded to install software and try to make the connection but i cannot seem to connect. i have tried via USB and ethernet with no luck. i have also tried marking the nova as safe on my Norton software and also disabled it for a bit to see if that worked. no luck. i tried installing the driver as recommended on this site and also with the RD works link that came with the machine with no luck. (it does not connect in RD works either) i do have a router and have tried plugging the ethernet into the router and also directly into the laser both with no luck either. the first 3 groups of #'s in my IP address are the same for both my computer and the laser.

I going to start with the assumption that your computer with LightBurn is connected to your home router by wifi or ethernet and your laser is connected by ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on your home network router.

Yes computer is connected via wifi, and ethernet cable is connected to computer and then to a port in the ASUS router. I have also tried connecting the ethernet direct from computer to laser and also via USB cord direct from computer to laser.

Turn the laser machine completely off, and then ping 192.168.1.100 again - if you still get a reply that would suggest that another device on the network is using the same address, which would explain the problems.

If this happens for you ping 192.168.1.210 and if there is no reply use that address instead for the laser and in the device settings in LightBurn (often the default IP pool range that DHCP uses for goes only up to 149 or 199 so a number in the 210-240 range is less likely to conflict with other devices).

Nova is a Cuban state-sponsored Linux distribution launched in February 2009.[2][3] It was developed in Havana at the University of Information Science (UCI) by students and professors to provide free and open-source software (FOSS) to inexperienced users and Cuban institutions. While the initial version was Gentoo-based, the developers switched to Ubuntu beginning with Version 2.1.[4]

In May 2016, discussions about a new version 6.0 were underway.[5] However, by 2016, Distrowatch had marked Nova as discontinued.[6] and its website, www.nova.cu had been taken down. Nova re-entered development later, and version 8.0 was released in January-March 2022.[7]

In early 2018, its repositories and download server (repo.nova.cu) was shut down temporarily, with users being told to switch to CentOS, after which Nova resumed development a couple months later. By early 2019, the distribution website was again active and DistroWatch listed it as under active development.[6]

The goal of Nova was to achieve "sovereignty and technological independence"[4] and to have it installed on all computers in Cuba where Microsoft Windows is still the most widely used operating system.[8][9] The system was central to the Cuban government's desire to replace Windows.[2] Hector Rodriguez, Director of UCI, said that "[t]he free software movement is closer to the ideology of the Cuban people, above all for the independence and sovereignty."[8] Other cited reasons to develop the system include the United States embargo against Cuba which made it hard for Cubans to buy and update Windows, as well as potential security issues feared by the Cuban government because of the U.S. government's access to Microsoft's source code.[2][9]

Cuba was planning to convert to Nova as its main operating system; once the migration is complete it was intended to be installed in 90% of all work places.[10][11] In early 2011, the UCI announced that they would migrate more than 8,000 computers to the new operating system.[12] Beginning in 2011, new computers were intended to come installed with both Windows and Nova.[11]

The first version of Nova, called Baire, was based on Gentoo Linux, while Nova 2.1 Desktop Edition was based on Ubuntu.[2][13] Nova Escritorio is UCI's office suite meant to replace Microsoft Office.[11]
