To open the Palettes docker, go to Window > Dockers > Palettes. Here you see the whole array of color palettes available. If you need to turn on any palettes other than the default palette, this is where you do it.

For example, if you need a Pantone Spot or Roland palette, click the arrow next to the name to expand the list. Check the box beside the palette that you want, and it will appear on the right side of your workspace.

You can set a palette as the default palette, choose to show color names on the swatches, or have the palette displayed in 1, 2 or 3 rows. And if you click on Customize in the flyout menu, you have further palette options available such as large swatches and wide borders.

If you have removed colors from your Document palette, or added a bitmap, you can choose to reset your color palette. Click on the flyout arrow and select Palette > Reset Palette. This will then give the opportunity to add colors from a bitmap.

However, if you prefer to control which colors are added to the Document palette, you can disable the automatic updates and add colors manually by dragging colors from your document down into the palette. To disable automatic updates, click on the flyout arrow and select Customize. Uncheck the setting Automatically update the document palette.

1. Select an object then click a swatch in the color palette. Left click sets the fill color and right-click sets the outline color. To remove a color fill click on the No Color swatch (right-click to remove the outline).

3. Hold down your right mouse button and click and drag one object over top of another object. When you release your right mouse button a popup menu will appear, with options to Copy Fill or Copy Outline.

There was already a color/colour palette for CorelDraw out on the forum, but the palette was wrong / empty (troll? corrupted? not sure!). So here is the code you can copy paste into an XML file and then import as the LightBurn colour palette for Corel Draw, including T1 and T2.

I have always been curious about how the Glowforge defaults the order of operations. I have tested it in terms of position in the workspace and order of creation in the design. Nothings seemed to click right, but I had a sneaking suspicion that it was dermined by color. The Glowforge catalog designs always load in the same order, though you can drag and change them in the workspace, so I figured there must be some way of doing this.

I played around with the colors and how the loaded and then noted that black was first. I used the RGB values of 0 and 255 to get base colors, which I normally do for my operations and opened the files in the GFUI to see how the order was determined. Black is first and White is last. Cut first and then loads the engraves.

That helped spur me on to do a little digging in how Inkscape makes colors. I found the file location and analyzed the palette files. They use the GIMP color palette file description. I came up with a palette than I think is fairly discernable with some descriptive names.starting with a number and ordering them. They appear left to right on the palette.

To activate the palette, you have to find the secret little arrow in Inkscape that hangs out at the lower right at the end of the color palette ribbon at the bottom. Note the red arrow in the screenshot.

I barely understand this stuff. I know that everything is a file. In Inkscape, the files are very accessible directly to edit, unlike the proprietary programs that hide that stuff from you. What we are doing is simply making a numeric description of colors and putting it in the form of a file that Inkscape can read. The GFUI must have some part of its programming that reorders the different colored objects according to a certain scheme. That allows the catalog files to order their cuts automatically for best effect.

no need for a text editor.
copy the text provided by @marmak3261 in the first post. select and press command-C usually
open a terminal window
at the prompt type:
cat > /Applications/Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/share/inkscape/palettes/GFPalette.gpl
press return if you did not
press command-V to paste or select paste from the edit menu
press control-D to close the file
you can close the terminal window now

PC users RE: Lost standard onscreen color palette - help! pogito (TechnicalUser)(OP)3 Apr 03 10:45Hi rh14k,

Following your instructions, I was able to get the default Corel Draw on-at-a-time-color, scrollable color palettes docker - thanks! Let me now ask you: could I convert that to a 3xsomething color array where all colors are visible? This arrangement requires less space on the working screen and somewhat easier to use since the colors are all there to select. Thanks again.

Pogito RE: Lost standard onscreen color palette - help! rh14k (TechnicalUser)4 Apr 03 00:45Hi Pogito,

I'm glad that the info I gave you was helpful.

In answer to your question, where all colors can be visible, here are two things you can do.

Option 1)
At the bottom of your color bar, that you restored, there is a vertical line with a black triangle beside it, pointing to the left. Click on it and all of the colors on that bar are displayed. To close the diplayed colors, just click on your work space.

Option 2)
Go to the top of the color bar to the grey tringle and left click-hold-drag the grey triangle out to the working area. The color bar will be undocked from where it was and it will now be on your work area. You can now size the box by moving your cursor to an edge where the cursor will turn to a double arrow so that you can size the box. when you want the color bar docked again just drag the box back to the far right and release and it will be docked again.

Gentlemen,

A few years ago I was given a color palette for CorelDraw that was custom made to match Federal Standard colors.

Several months ago my computer crashed and I had to reinstall Corel. I just realized late last night that not only were all of my installed fonts gone, but so were my color palettes.

I have been able to reinstall my fonts, as well as a Pantone color palette, but I no longer have the FS palette.

Does anyone here happen to have it?

Thank you,

Dave

I was on that site and didn't find that download........now, any idea how I import that into Corel? My only concern at this point is that it mentions Corel X5 in the description. I am using Corel 12 and hope its compatable.

If you inadvertently delete or close the color palette that is normally on the right side of the CorelDRAW screen, getting it back is as easy as going to Window > Color Palettes and enabling Default Palette (or whichever color palette you want displayed).

We have collected and processed the color palettes that, as we think, may be useful for graphics design. Our primary goal was to provide sK1 users with a good set of color swatches like other graphics software. But sK1 application got a lot of filters for different color palette file formats. Therefore we preparedthis collection available for wide range of graphics applications as open source and commercial:

Probably you mean that, when converting from rgb to cmyk, the color changed to a more dull hue. This is because of the conversion from a 'wide' color space to a 'narrow' color space. All colors are mapped to values within a much smaller color space. If you don't use this image for (offset)printing, you may want to keep on using rgb so there is a wider range of colors to be used.

You can simply right click and select "View" and chose palette. It will be added to colors on the right side of screen. I use home old version of Corel, but I don't think basic rules have changed in new version.

Creating custom color palettes in CorelDRAW allows you to store all the colors or color styles you frequently use. Doing so allows you to access and use it easily in current or future projects. Here is a simple guide on creating your own custom color palette.

Creating a custom color palette is one of many creative ways to use CorelDRAW features. Once your color palette has been created, you can make it appear on the right side of CorelDRAW by clicking on Windows > Color Palettes > Palettes. In the tab on the right, ensure your color palette is checked, and it should appear beside the default color palette in CorelDRAW.

When designing and editing images for your small business, creating custom color palettes can save time and effort, keeping the colors you use most at your fingertips. Not unlike a master artist mixing colors on a traditional handheld board, you can use CorelDRAW to create palettes loaded with your preferred shades and hues. Investing a few minutes in the palette creation process can save you frustration over the course of a project, eliminating the need to search for just the right color each and every step of the way.

Search through the preset palettes and click on the colors you would like to have in your new palette. Click the "Add to Palette" button in the bottom left of the window to assign the color to your palette.
