Hi, My name is Tom and I'm a member of Occupy Boulder. I'm trying to organize a campaign of Occupy members interested in running for elected office, both with the idea of winning, and with the idea of putting pressure on the Democrats to start listening to Occupy the way the Tea Party has taken over the Repubs, except without money and some integrity. For example, I'm running for President, finance-free, via Facebook, and I'm hoping to convince at least 49 other Occupiers from the other 49 states to also run for President, and thousands of others to run for every elected office on the 2012 ballots nationwide. In Boulder, we have a couple people who want to run for City Council, and they just might win. I'm running for President, and want others to run for the Senate, the House, all state and local positions. Why? Who would we pull votes from even as "write-in" candidates? Certainly, not the Repubs - it would be the Dems, and if the Dems get the message, they just might start listening to Occupy, "grow a pair", and stand up to the Tea Party controlled Repubs. If anyone is interested, I think we should find a way to link up online nationwide, and get organized. I'm trying to contact every Occupy location. InterOccupy and OccupyTogether don't seem to be that well maintained and updated. If interested, please check out my Facebook page: Tom Cummins, or email me at grandpa...@gmail.com. Thanks, Tom
