The 4th and final season race of the ACA series was another great weekend for our riders and hopefully their families too. The McDowell middle school course is a fast, flowy, fun course but was a little dry and slick in some areas. That didn't bother our middle school riders; they brought home a podium position in every category, and two in 6th grade boys! The high school course adds a leg destroying hill climb, followed by awesome descent (while still on those wobbly legs..). The high schoolers covered the full range of race experiences- many had their best day, some held consistent with solid race performances, and fortunately only a few got to experience the difficult side of racing with either crashes or mechanical issues. No matter how the day went, each of them acted like professionals and represented our team well, once again. When it was all said and done the high schoolers earned 4 podiums in the girls categories and 7 in the boys, along with many other strong finishes.
CDO held on to their 2nd place position
as a division 1 team and also earned 2nd place for the series overall. OV Composite was back on the podium with a 3rd for this race, and a 2nd for the season overall in division 2! Next stop is State championships so tighten those helmets and lube those chains....
Save the dates
The Vista de la Montana church lets us use their parking lot throughout the season and it's a much better option than anywhere else. In return, they do ask us to volunteer a few hours to help them take care of some items. This year it includes trimming back some brush/bushes/trees, sweeping up the paved parking lot and filling in a washout in the dirt parking lot. We're planning to do a work day there on Nov 15th, starting at 7am. We hope to be done by 9am, but it might run a little over to 10am. If you have ridden with us this season, we do ask that you come and help us out as many hands make light work. If you have a shop broom, shovel (square or spade), rake, leaf blowers, tree pruners or gloves that you can bring that would help tremendously. Make sure to mark your name on anything you bring, except your riders, we know who they belong to!
Later that day we are planning our end of year banquet as well. We're still working on securing the location, but it'll likely be at Steam Pump ranch roughly from 5-8pm. Once the location and times are locked in for sure, we'll let you know.
Thanks,
Ryan
