Hello OVMTB!
Welcome to Week 6 of our season! I've been out of town for work over the weekend and fell behind on my weekly email. Thank you Ryan Vossler and Kendra for running the practices and of course the coaches too for being there on Saturday and Tuesday! I'll be back for Thursday's practice for sure.
Remember beginning this week, practice starts from Vista de la Montaña church parking lot because the Big Wash lot 'closes' at dusk.
Lights, MTB, ACTION! The days are getting a little shorter, and that means that our rides are going to start ending in the dark. Please get your lighting set up dusted off, charged up and start bringing it to practice starting this week. A wise old mountain bike rider I met out on the trail once told me "it's really hard to ride in the dark without a light" and I really felt that....
Our Mock race at 24hr town is only 10 days away! Keep an eye out for the sign up genius email from Karen Kinared for items that we could use help with for the Pancake breakfast. We hope to be wrapped up with riding and eating by 9am but will be hanging out for a few hours afterwards. We'll have a "gear swap table" with lightly used items for free, so if you need any gear make sure to take a look. Or if you have any gear you'd like to put in that would be awesome too! Please keep in mind that it is a deceptively long drive to 24hr town- Google says 37 minutes from the Rancho Vistoso Oro Valley Bicycle location. We'll get things started at 7am. For those of you that have ridden/raced the 24HOP, we are only using the top loop, not the full 17 miles.
That's it for now, look forward to riding with you all again on Thursday!
Ryan
