I'm getting this error message when trying to install Covenant in SPMC. I have no idea how to fix this. It's a fresh install of 16.7 SPMC, and I only have added 2 repos, kodil and xvbmc. Can someone help me resolve this error?
On Kodi 18.9 I keep getting xbmc.python errors saying that the versions can not be satified. There should be a way to install any python version with out upgrading a build. I get an error on python 0.0.0 why
I just installed the latest version of kodi and I have this problem and you tell me to update to the newest version. By your way of thinking I should be able to download addons in a week or two when the next version comes out!!!GOOD ADVICE
But i want to fix this directly in kodi. in documentions"If there is a current pyc file, this is taken as the compiled version, so no compile step has to be taken before running the command. Otherwise the py file is read, the compiler has to compile it"
Main reason is that the kodi is configured to use .py extension to be load from addon.xml file which tradition is followed by all the addon. Changing such headers file will only result to work addon only in your custom build kodi and you have to modify all other addon along with it.
The below will fix any official add-ons / scrapers and most skins.
3rd party add-ons without a dependency on xbmc.python will need to also follow the "Fixing Other Add-ons" steps.
If the addons are not Matrix (Python3) compatible they won't work until updated by their authors.
I know this is an old thread, but i had not updated kodi since this plugin stopped working in matrix. Since it was no longer supported, i decided to update it and fix it myself. All the menus work like they did previously. You still need the xbmcstate on your vera. You can install through unknown sources and install from zip file. Tested on 19.3.
so my goal is to have arch based linux on Raspberry pi and working kodi with streaming plugins (some IPTVS, youtube, netflix) but i cannot seem t oget stream based content working
i previously tried this on pure arch and kodi was crashing always when trying to acces any remote content, i even compiled inputstream but it didnt helped,
I have watched some streaming but not for very long and had no issues. There is not any diff with our kodi-rpi and arch-arm. I use their PKGBUILD with some changes due to some distro differences. I do know there was some issues do to some python changes. Have you completely upgraded all packages to bring them up to date?
Question I am using the kodi callbacks addon and I am having trouble getting the lights to dim when I start playing a movie. A little background here, I am using kodi on a GBOX which is an android box. I am not sure if I setup the callbacks addon correctly. I created http commands using the urls from the kodi endpoints smart app in ST. I set each task with the http url to corresponding events play/pause/resume/stop in the addon. However it does not seem to work when I playback a movie or use any commands. I did notice that when I used the test command in the addon it did dim the lights on play task but then it also seemed to freeze kodi. I would really appreciate your help , I am fairly new at this and have only had ST for a week and I have no programing skills. I am really surprised I got this far.
Im not an pro in pulse audio or alsa and sinks and whatever makes sounds work in our linux boxes
For some year ive used Rygel to stream audio to my xbmc/kodi from my arch laptop, its been clumsy, buggy and slow..
Ive followed alot of guides of pulseaudio over network but never succeded...
json decode error, had to use sg wizard to upload to pastebin then cut and paste here. is from android smart tv. i checked on my windows kodi and no new issue. this only happened on the android version after i restarted server on last update
Your kodi.log looks basically ok, but it seems it's not a complete log. Last records related to Emby plugin shows connection was initiated and the plugin starts the establish the connection. The next steps are not included in the log -> truncated.
this tv used to be able to hard off, after the last update, even with the setting on, it doesnt, all soft off, can tell by how quickly it just turns on with no tcl bootscreen anymore :- point being, it wasnt hard off'd, can only assume i may have restarted the server when kodi plugin was syncing in background or something?!
The kodi-monkey-repo is structured to contain the source for every add-on in a subfolder. Executing the addons_xml_generator.py python script, will produce the Kodi add-on repository structure in the dist folder. Pushing the dist folder to Github simplifies sharing the repository with the Kodi community.
When none of the basic GUI controls are sufficient, you can compose a new window using XML. These files live in resources/skins/default/720p. A good place to start is to copy one of the bundled files in the default skin under /usr/share/kodi/addons/skin.confluence/720p/.
After many infuriating attempts to re-install the add-on after having pushed changes to Github, I realized that Kodi caches the packages locally after the first download. Simply uninstalling an add-on does not remove the cached package. To ensure that Kodi downloads a the latest distribution, delete the cached packages in /var/lib/kodi/.kodi/addons/packages/.
Maby standard HTTP is no longer supported because the user and password are before the host name of the kodi machine I read that this is pretty much a dead thing in the http world and maby the team have stopped this from working but using a command line curl is still possible?
I had some problems with kodi crashing some time ago, I had to delete a couple of lines in a python file.
It is working now and Iĺl update now and see if kodi still works.
These are the updates:
Socket activation can be used to start Kodi when the user issues a Wakeup command from a remote control app like Kore, or makes a connection to Kodi's html control port. Start listening by starting kodi@user.socket (replace user with the user running Kodi to be started as).
Both Android and iOS users can use the official app (currently free of charge) to control kodi once it is correctly setup to do so. Steps to configure both Kodi and the app are detailed on the Official Kodi Remote and Kore Manual page.
To set up another Kodi node on the network to use this library, simply copy /.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml to that box and restart Kodi. There is NO need to copy any other files or to do any other setup steps on the new kodi node. The nfs exports, the metadata for the programming, any stop/start times, view status, etc. are all stored in the SQL tables.
Some users may wish to make the thresholds Kodi uses to create a resume point/consider a video "watched" entirely. Do so by editing /.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml inserting the following three xml fields:
Since Kodi uses ffmpeg for video playback, it is able to play streams such as rtsp and rtmp can be viewed. To do so, simply create a txt file in the filesystem exposed to the kodi user containing the stream. For example:
One can allow an external receiver or sound bar to decode audio by enabling passthrough. This is useful for files encoded in TrueHD or Atmos. If using PulseAudio, follow the instructions at to first enable passthrough in PulseAudio. Once complete, the corresponding passthrough options should appear in Kodi. If using ALSA, the passthrough options will appear in Kodi without modifications provided that the AE_SINK=ALSA environment variable is defined prior to starting kodi.
Another way of getting TrueHD and DTS-MA passthrough without disabling Pulseaudio or Pipewire-Pulse is to use an external player like MPV, first create the file /.kodi/userdata/playercorefactory.xml then paste the following into it:
If running with WiFi only (wired network unplugged) while #Sharing media and a centralized database across multiple nodes, kodi will likely start before the wireless network is up, which will result in failure to connect to the shares and to the SQL server. Assuming the network is managed by systemd-networkd, this can be fixed by using a drop-in file:
Kodi provides addons for accessing various virtual file systems from within Kodi. RAR archives can be accessed using kodi-addon-vfs-rarAUR. SFTP shares can be accessed using kodi-addon-vfs-sftpAUR. Super Audio CD ISO files can be access using kodi-addon-vfs-sacdAUR. Each of these addons must be enabled within Kodi's addon manager in order to be utilized.
@laichiaheng - kodi is bound to a specific version of ffmpeg which is generally older than Arch's package. We avoid incompatibilities by using that specific version (ie internal ffmpeg). Recommend that you build kodi in clean chroot. See: :Building_in_a_clean_chroot
Not needed here the last time I built this package r57584.8cbbb961201-1. Guessing you're not building in a clean build root and that the dep detect script in kodi's code found that on your system. Build in a clean build root.
