Whileequipped, the wearer can double tap a horizontal movement key to perform a holy dash with a base distance of 18 blocks. Striking enemies during the shield dash will deal 200 melee damage, which can be affected by melee damage bonuses. Every time an enemy is struck, the wearer is given 12 immunity frames.
The shields are used by equipping them in your hotbar. To block, right click when the shield is in your hand or when you are holding a vanilla sword. The shield will override some melee weapons' blocks when held in the hotbar. When held, the shield blocks a percentage of damage received, rounded to the nearest half heart. When you equip a shield an indicator will appear between your health and food bars. The indicator starts empty and fills up over time, and when it is full you can activate the Vanguard ability, knocking back and debuffing mobs and refilling your. The shield will grant a passive defense buff when held in your hand, but not in your hotbar. Giant Swords and a few mod swords will not function with the auto-shield-block feature and will block normally, though Giant Swords have similar defensive abilities to shields. Each shield has a special perk and a weakness. Both are visible in game as flavor text when the item is moused over. Note that it seems if you hold right click until the shield bar is fully depleted, the icons will change to a cracked version and the meter will recharge much slower with a chance for the shield to break. It will also become impossible to block while the meter is recharging.
There is a standard and gilded variant of every shield. The gilded shields have increased stats, durability, and the Guard Gauge will drop half as quickly as the standard version. The special perk and weakness are also affected, always positively. Gilded shields are crafted by surrounding a normal shield with eight gold ingots in a crafting table, but this recipe is currently bugged and may crash the game or yield an entirely different shield of a non-gilded variety. Until this is fixed, the only way to obtain gilded shields is by looting. Although the recipes for gilded Ender and Diamond Shields still work and give the correct shield.
While held, giant swords offer excellent offense and defense. They hit harder than vanilla swords, and while blocking greatly reduce incoming damage. However, unlike regular swords, they have a limited amount of blocking time, which needs to recharge after being consumed. This is displayed in the HUD above the food bar, opposite the armor bar, when blocking or recharging.
Asgard shields are the primary defensive technology used by Asgard and Tau'ri spaceships, and are among the most advanced shields known to exist. The technology was shared by the Asgard with the Tau'ri in thanks for their contributions in defeating the Replicators, giving Tau'ri ships a great advantage over the advance races of the galaxy.
Asgard shields create an elliptical "bubble" around the spaceship they are equipped to, which absorbs and diffuses the energy from weapons fire. When hit with weapons fire, Asgard shields have a distinctive bluish color and an effect similar to that of boiling water or mist dissipating the energy. This shield matrix will gradually degrade under fire (rather quickly under sustained bombardment, but only if the shield is attacked by powerful weapons), resulting in more and more energy from attacks bleeding through and causing damage to the ship. However, as pointed out, the weapons impacting the shield must be quite powerful, otherwise the shields will hold even under sustained fire. Lesser weaponry like the one on a Ha'tak vessel have little to no effect on the shield even if multiple vessels are bombarding it simultaneously. Additional energy can be allocated to the shield matrix to reinforce it, but the only way for a ship to ultimately survive a continued assault is to withdraw and give the generators time to recharge and replenish the matrix. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 3", "No Man's Land")
Asgard shields far outstrip the much more primitive Goa'uld shields in effectiveness. Despite this, they become considerably less effective when facing foes of a comparable technological level. The exact strength of an Asgard shield, like most Asgard technology, appears to be relative to the amount of power channelled into them, meaning the shields on Asgard ships are much more powerful than those of Tau'ri spaceships unless a Zero Point Module or equivalent power source is interfaced, which renders them even more powerful than the shields featured on Asgard vessels. The most advanced shields ever developed by the Asgard were equipped on the Odyssey before they committed mass suicide, allowing the ship to survive sustained fire from the central weapons of multiple Ori warships for several minutes, a most incredible feat currently unmatched by the shield technology of any other race that has battled the Ori. (SG1: "Unending", "The Ark of Truth")
With a ZPM or another comparable power source, the shields can withstand virtually anything. Even without a ZPM, the Asgard shields offer protection from Drone weapons. (SGA: "Be All My Sins Remember'd")
The Asgard's Valor is a craftable Hardmode accessory that grants immunity to knockback, immunity to most debuffs including Frostburn and Glacial State, 16 defense while submerged in liquid, and +20 max life. It also reduces the damage over time effect for Brimstone Flames by 50%.
While equipped, the wearer can double tap a horizontal movement key to perform a holy dash with a base distance of 18 blocks. Striking enemies during the shield dash will damage them and cause an explosion. Every time an enemy is struck, the wearer is given 6 immunity frames.

Shields and giant swords provide a passive protection just by have one selected, however their true defense is activated by holding down the Right Click. Players will raise the shield/sword up and Guard against all forms of hostile damage. * Movement speed will be reduced while in guarding stance *
-Giant swords serve and act as a shield while guarding-
While the shield or giant sword is raised, players will have a percent chance to block (based on type of shield equipped/ 75% with giant swords), protecting from all damage (besides fire/fall/void/suffocation/drowning). Blocked attacks will lower the shields/swords durability. If Durability reaches Zero the item will break.
Basic Shield, Gilded Shield and Giant Sword GG drain rate: Depending on what type of item is being used, the GG will drain at different rates. Gilded Shields add a golden Border to the GG.
Vanguard and Guard Gauge Config: Y_Offset Options: Allow the user to move the HUD up and down per HUD Element unit (a normal displayed distance Minecraft has for its GUIs). 0 is the default.

The URF ASGARD Armor was designed for the URF's equivalent of the Spartan-II Program, Experiment Gladiator, being the mainstream power armor for the Experiment, however, only three sets were built by the URF, and several were quickly built by ONI to try and force the URF to continue their split.
In 2575, after ONI exposed Experiment Gladiator to the public, decided to make sure to keep the URF infighting even longer, having normal ODSTs equipped with an ONI variant of the armor attack several URF outposts. This was an attempt to try to mislead the public further, and it did, causing The Hand Of Shadow to be formed as a result of the misinformation campaign.
As the shields were in development, the armor was the least thought-out part of the suit, using ideas from both the SPI and MJOLNIR armors. The armor was presumably made out of a similar material to the SPI armor, but lacked the near-camouflage of the SPI, thus making it vastly inferior.
While the project was under development, the URF's only official research and development division- which was already suffering from bureaucracy and budgetary issues- was tasked with the difficult issue of designing a suit to rival the MJOLNIR. After months of work, the small team of technicians and half-trained scientists managed to shoddily reverse-engineer Covenant shield tech. These shields were vastly inferior to that of the Spartans and Elites, but in spite of this, were still implemented in the hopes that the armor underneath would hold up by itself.
