Hey all,

It is with a bittersweetness that I report that Randy went to be with his Lord and Savior today.

It happened while he was doing something that he loved, playing basketball.

He professed Christ not only in his words, but I think we'd all agree he showed Christ in his countenance and how he treated and interacted with all of us.

This is why I have confidence he is now in a restful peace in heaven.

Please prayer for his wife Donna and their family as they will clearly have some adjusting to do in their lives.   Prayer for the First Baptist Oviedo family too that they may rally around the Moore family and comfort them as best as they can.

Thank you to the many guys who did what they could this morning, praying, calling 911, and assisting with the AED, etc.  I am proud to be part of our Sonrise guys and gals and grateful for you all.

I have asked Brendon to keep me informed of memorial service plans, and Donna also asked for my info so she too could do that.  I hope as many of us that are able will honor him at that service when the time comes.

Let's meet and plan to spend some extended time in prayer for Randy's family this Thursday at 6a.

You'll never know the day nor the hour of your passing.  May God open your hearts to know Him and may you all pursue knowing Him with all that is within you.

Dave T.

Thanks Dave. And thank you to all who responded and helped and all those who are praying. Also thanks to ya'll for bringing great joy to Randy by playing a game with him that he loved and was passionate about. He loved being matched up against guys half his age and 4 times his skills bc he always loved to be challenged. He got joy in being crossed over, posted up, rebounded over and buckets drained in his eye! He got so pumped about picking someone's pocket once in a blue moon!

I echo Dave in everything he said. Life is a vapor and without Jesus we have no hope in this life and in eternity. And by God's grace Randy knew that and lived it. He's in the precious arms of his loving heavenly Father and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

Our family is mourning and holding onto the beautiful promise of the psalmist in Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."

In His grip,
Shaun

Hold the phone.  Randy may be off with Jesus – but I know you are just mad because he made you look bad.

Just like I used to.

I am just still in awe over his passing, and those he leaves behind.

If I could bring him back I would let him dunk on me anytime!

He was a great friend, and will miss him dearly!

My heart goes out to all his family!

Amen to that.  We never understand why God allows good people like that to leave us early.

This is very sad news.  Randy was a friend and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.  I've been playing with Randy for years and he was always in better shape than I was.  I told him he would be able to play basketball for the rest of his life!  Shaun, My family will be praying for your family.  Randy will be missed.

Hey guys,

Randy's son in law, Shaun, sent this message to the Oviedo group e-mail and he asked that I share it with you.

Also note that I told him I had planned to 'take a collection' in Randy's honor.   I don't know if buying flowers for a service makes sense for us, but I trust there will be a fund set-up in Randy's memory, and I think it'd be good if we were able to kick in to that as a group.  More later.

But here's the note from Shaun:
Thanks Dave. And thank you to all who responded and helped and all those who are praying. Also thanks to ya'll for bringing great joy to Randy by playing a game with him that he loved and was passionate about. He loved being matched up against guys half his age and 4 times his skills bc he always loved to be challenged. And don't forget the memorial fund in his honor - http://randymoorefund.com/

Thanks, men.
