Illinois Trail Riders and Trail Riders of Illinois,
You know I mean you....the one who knows about horses, trails, people, nature, bikes and other things we share on the trail.  Can we committ to help after Horsemen's Council has gone to so much trouble to have us recognized at the Fair.
Pleas let me hear from you

Read what Frank has to say

Denise,

HCI has, just this morning, committed to producing Pack Horse Demo’s with Bob Wagner, 3 – 4 times daily, during the Illinois State Fair this year (8/13-8/22). The really cool thing about this event is that we will be located in Conservation World, a place where most people may have never been able to get up close to a horse before. Most of these folks may not ever make it over to the horse barns either. We plan to include issues like encountering horses and other users along the trail in Bob’s talks with the goal to try and demystify horses somewhat. We will have information available about HCI, horseback riding opportunities in Illinois, sharing trails with horses and would welcome volunteers to be available to answer questions and talk about horses with the folks that stop by.

The demo area may be a perfect location for your ITR info or a banner hanging on the corral or leading into the area. We’d be glad to set any info out on the tables as well. Think we could get that done?

Other trail user groups were apparently not interested in participating so this will be all about horses and the info we would like to provide.

Let me know. Thanks!

Frank Bowman

That is super news. I hope horse people realize how valuable this is to them. Wish I could be there but won't have any vacation time left to take off along with the calendar commitments I have already in place.

Good Luck and Happy Trails, Yvette

This time with a contact and more info.

Illinois State Fair  August 13-22.  Share the Trails Booth

Volunteers needed to be available to answer questions and talk about horses with the folks that stop by in 4 hr shifts everyday during the fair.  Shifts from 10 AM to 2 PM or 2 PM -6 PM. For the first time  equestrians will be taking part in a new "Share the Trails" exhibit area and giving the opportunity for city folks to get up close and personal with a real live horse.  Bob Wagner from Back Country Horsemen will be providing horse packing demos daily!   We plan to include issues like encountering horses and other users along the trail in Bob’s talks with the goal to try and demystify horses somewhat. We will have information available about Horsemen’s Council of Illinois, horseback riding opportunities in Illinois, and sharing trails with horses.  Make plans to help HCI and Illinois Trail Riders at Conservation World during the State Fair. You will need to pay for parking $3-$7 and entry $5.  (A small price to help spread the word about horses and trails!)   Contact Denise Maxwell to sign up for your day at the fair.  ILTr...@illinoistrailriders.com or 618.656.2591
