Assalaamu'alaikum my dear brothers and sisters, thought I'd share an article I read today and found very interesting. I know it's not related to the Qur'an so I hope you don't mind.

Check out the article on the link below, it shows how fasting has medical benefits. The interesting thing is that in the article, the best results are obtained by fasting every other day (I immediately thought, the best fast is the fast of dawood alaihis salaam) The article then goes on to say that if that is too difficult, it is beneficial to fast two out of the seven days and I then thought of the sunnah of fasting Mondays and Thursdays. Subhan Allah, this just shows how through the non Muslims, Allah sometimes shows His signs and how blind these people are to the haque of Allah's message and wisdom although they reap the worldly benefits therein.

AsSalamu Alikum wa Rahmatullah

I hope you don’t mind me making a comment about this issue…it is very important for us to distinguish the acts of ibada and worship we do with ordinary acts.

The actions of Ibada’ and the commends from Allah, is done solely because Allah (swt) has commend us to do so. We understand who is the creator, who is the sustainer and what is our purpose in this life and the fact that Allah (swt) commanded we obey.

Specially with the acts of Ibada

Examples:

Even if they find benefits in the wine and swine we don’t drink or eat it for the simple fact that Allah has forbade it

Recently there was an article for using Nose Bidet and how good it is to use and some were mentioning and comparing it to wudu and why making wudu is medically good for you

Similarly they were mentioning making salay and sajdah, is good for you as brings blood to the brain and prayer actually good physical activity for the body and the brain….

These acts are act of worship ordered by Allah if I want to clean my nose or get physical activity I go to the gym

We Do not do pray or make wudu to get physical fitness but these acts are solely done as part of worshiping Allah (swt)

And not for the reason of exercise even if they find medically it is good for you…

Sometimes non-muslims don’t understand why we do things and think providing a medical reason may help them understand…but that is not a wise approach

The explanation should and discussion should be focus on the tawheed and who is the creator...we submit ourselves to the will of Allah and we obey HIM alone when commended to do certain actions

JazakhAllah khair

Wa salam
