Hello,

There may be a storm drain blockage problem that needs some attention.  The storm drain along Montgomery Village Avenue, northbound side and just opposite the Points community and North Creek Lake, seriously backs up every time there is a heavy thunderstorm. Yesterday was a good example. During the storm that hit around 6:00 pm, both northbound lanes on the street and the sidewalk were flooded, the street with several inches of water. Cars had to slow down to a crawl to drive through the area.  Even several hours after the rain stopped, the curb lane was still flooded.

Perhaps it's just the heavy volume of water all at once that can't drain fast enough but it is very dangerous for drivers. I've had to drive through it myself several times. If you hit all that water at a normal driving speed because you didn't notice it until too late, you could have a serious accident.

Perhaps the appropriate agency could check it out and see if it can be improved.

Thanks, Elaine

Ms. Cox,

I apologize this drain is actually a Montgomery County drain.  I sent in a request to 311.
