Friends:

I've recently joined San Francisco-based startup incubator OkCupid Labs, and will soon open an LA office. We're rapidly ramping up in both spaces, and are in great need of some amazing design help -- of just the sort you folks know a lot about.

Is anyone, or anyone you know, interested?

can you say more about the sort of designers you're looking for? UX?
Visual? Jack of all trades? Something else? Full-time employee,
advisor/mentor, designer-in-residence,
person-getting-fractional-equity?

OkCupid Labs is organized around multiple individual product teams, each working in parallel to test/refine/scale product concepts into full-fledged businesses, with the aim that at least some of them will become successful enough to spin out of the lab as standalone startups or be acquired.

Since we're still small (~20 people total) and each team is even smaller (~1 product + 2-3 engineers), and since so far Design has been a shared reesource across multiple teams, the next couple designers will have to be/enjoy being UX+visual omnivoires. Bonus points for some front-end prototyping/coding skills, but they're not required.

Full-time employees would be eligible for stock in the Labs, and also anything that would spin out of it, if they were to join one of those teams. We'd also consider contract gigs if that's the best way to match people and timing for any given project.

Last but not least, we're looking for both San Francisco (near the ballpark) and Los Angeles (office location TBD).

If you'd like to chat further or if there's anyone you recommend, please let me know!

Cheers,

     Brad
