Mike, Caltex has a rather strange operating model.
Years ago I got so fedup with battling to find their upgraded Delo 400 that I wrote a letter to their MD asking him to explain to me their strange business model: put full-page, colour adverts in CAR magazine and then do not make the product available.
Got a phone call from a rep. a few weeks later, telling me heads rolled when the MD tested my statement and found it to be true.
I got 20 liters of Delo 400 for free, and after that had the oil delivered to my house at cost.
That worked well.
Until Caltex went through a AA exercise (as it was called then) and my rep left.
Fortunately a Caltex depot opened up in my area, and all was well.
'Till I needed MTF.
A distributor gets a 210 liter drum of MTF, sealed. For "free"
The moment he opens that drum, he needs to pay Caltex the full amount for 210 liters.
At the time it was only our R380 boxes, and one Honda gearbox that used MTF, so depots were reluctant to open the drum !
Sorry for the long story, but I found Caltex to have strange business models.

Hi guys

For many, many years I've been using Caltex Delo XLC coolant in my Land Rovers and am very happy with it. It's available in a 50/50 premix and a concentrate (confirmed with Caltex South Africa).

Although I've been finding it harder to source the stuff; this week I found a good supplier for the Premix in the Kraaifontein area; unfortunately they don't sell the Concentrate - and Caltex won't tell me who does (apparently client confidentiality issues).

But I'm stuck with the problem of having had to top up my system with 1 litres water (in Sutherland = VERY cold! LOL) and my mix is no longer 50/50. So I need to get some concentrate to get things back in order.

Anyone know who stocks the concentrate?
[Does not matter if they're not in Cape Town - as I can always ask them if they have a Cape Town outlet]

Regards

Hi Mike
I have a contact that is trying to find out for you. Apparently there might
be someone in Montague Gardens that does Caltex products.

Hi Mike
Try these guys:
Industrial Technical Trading - 0215517633

Thanks Louis
I've got from them before - but they don't do the concentrate.
Much better price from Moov Fuel and Lubricants in Kraaifontein Industria for the Premix.
Regards
Mike B
