Just so people know what’s coming up. I also visited Harare, Bulawayo, Motopos and Gonarezhou. I also did an off the map route before getting to Gonarezhou that was absolutely amazing. 

I can not wait to go back. In fact I wish I had not booked and paid for a trip to Moremi and Kwai in August already because I would prefer to go back to Zim.

Very good video ! I enjoyed the scenery and the information about the road conditions , petrol stations , antelope park and the bush campsites .
We only visited mana pools once (also filmed lionesses following buffalo and crossing the road) ; we took the ferry at malabizi and camped at kariba then travel to mana pools ;afterwards  followed the route to harare , highlands vumba mountains and into mozambique to inhassoro etc .
This year's  trip to matopo (via botswana)  , lake kayle , gonarezhou was cancelled in march due to the covid restrictions e.g. vaccinations that we did not have for botswana and zimbabwe....but hopefully to be replanned in the near future

Zimbabwe was refreshing to be honest and I enjoyed it more than my last Botswana trip. Can’t wait to go back.

What was your route?

Just check if Pafuri BP is open. It wasn’t a few weeks ago when I wanted to come back to SA

Here is my entire route:
Beitbridge, Gweru, Chinhoyi, Mana Pools, Harare, Bulawayo, Motopo, across to Chiredzi via Zvishavane, Mushonga, past the Dungugwi Sacred Mountain, Neshuro, Chiredzi, Gonarezhou, back to Chiredzi, then to Beitbridge.

Pafuri border reopened on 1 Feb this year.  Has remained open since then according to the folk who have Dumela Wilderness Safaris in Moz 8km from Pafuri. 

I will be entering Moz via Pafuri on July 2.
