Starting the plan for my August trip to Moremi.

Instead of night stopping at Audi Camp I was thinking of pushing
through to Kaziikini after spending a night at Khama Rhino sanctuary.
This will give me the advantage of crossing into Moremi first thing
the next morning and maxing my entry permit to Moremi. Our firts stop
in Moremi is Third bridge followed by Xanaxa and then North Gate. We
will be in Moremi six nights. Anyone stayed at Kaziikini? What are
the GPS coordinates?

Also anyone been to Moremi recently?

Yes, stayed at Kazikiini.  Not bad camping.  Only, there were two overseas groups making some noise, but also not that bad.
But, still I would rather go to Mankwe.

Here are some links to look at:

Hi Tabatwa

We stayed there in March - enjoyed the stay. Quiet and clean camp with
good clean ablutions and hot showers (all open to the sky :-) ). The
camp sites are hidden from one another by bushes, so you're almost not
aware that there are other campers.

I didn't take the GPS coordinates, but the camp is indicated on T4A.

Cheers

Hi Tabatwa,

We also thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kaziikini a few years ago. We
were the only campers. You could try find out from them beforehand how
many other campers there might be during your stay. Some time ago I
forwarded a newsletter with Kaziikini's contact details, check the
archives if you're interested.

I do seem to recall reading somewhere recently that Third Bridge is
flooded and North Gate closed. You might want to check the outlook for
the period of your visit with DWNP in Botswana.

As Paul says, Kaziikini is on T4A. After our visit I made sure the
location and turn-off are correctly marked :-).

Hope you have a fantastic time!

Francois

I've stayed at Kaziikini a few times & always enjoyed it.

BTW, you can organise a community guide & game drive within their concession. I've found the area around Santawani lodge/ Gomoti River to be very good for sightings of lion, leopard & cheetah. Have never seen the wild dogs there though.

Cheers,

Chris
