Forum,
With the webmasters' blessing, I have the pleasure to announce the new
CABEX Map "100 KM around Cape Town". This map is the most detailed
Cape map yet, built from data supplied by the Surveyor General in Cape
Town and supplemented with data by Tracks4Africa . It literally shows
every road, track and trail in the area.
The map covers an area of 10,000 sq. km, from Yzerfontein and Darling
on the West coast, to Gansbaai on the South coast and shows not only
roads, but also towns, rivers, lakes, dams, mountains and elevations,
nature reserves and golf courses. The roads system includes road
classification by colour and line styles, featuring road numbers,
distances and exit numbers and ramps.
The reverse side of the map is a mosaic of smaller maps showing all
the wine regions of the area. These maps are at an even larger scale
than the main map and hence show the detail even more clearly, as well
as featuring over 500 wine estates plus their dining/lodging
facilities! It forms the logical extension to T4A's Wine Farm data
base on Padkos.
The map's full dimensions are 1,000x1,035 mm, or just over a square
meter. It is printed on the same tear- and waterproof Polyart as the
T4A paper maps of Namibia and Botswana. Polyart is a product that is
virtually indestructible during daily use, yet fully recyclable,
lightweight and pleasant to the touch.
CABEX Maps is proud to announce this map, which, not only in their own
opinion but also according to the many people who have already seen
and/or bought it, is THE BEST MAP EVER of our beautiful Cape. Being a
brand new publication, it makes an ideal Christmas gift and should
find
its way to every cubbyhole.
The map can soon be obtained in various bookshops, or by sending an
email to
