Route to Vryburg

Is there anyone here who's recently travelled Jhb - Vryburg. 

Normally I would take the more direct N14 through Ventersdorp, but I've been advised to rather use the N12 to Wolmaranstad then turn off to Schweizer Reineke.

Does this have something to do with road conditions, and how up to date is the info I've been given?

There is a very nice detour just past Ventersdorp that bypasses Potch & Klerksdop and spit you out just before Wolmaranstad. From Ventersdorp aim for Hartbeesfontein and from there Wolmaranstad. Then you are on your way to Schweizer. Say howzit to Margaret...

Returned from KTP beginning of October and took the route through Schweizser-Reineke to Wolmaransstad. In general the road is good.  A few uneven spots on the section to Schweizer-Reineke but in general never as bad as a few years ago.  I found the road from Wolmaransstad to Klerksdorp and the rest back to HHB more stressful traffic wise.  But would use this in favour of the Ventersdorp route in future.

Hi Marc,

I drove the N14 in beginning of Nov to KTP, the road is fine no potholes and that includes the stretch between Krugersdorp and Ventersdorp.
