Good morning Overlanders,

We are doing the Fishriver hike in June this year and have some time afterwards available to do and see something.
Having been to all the usual and known attractions I am now looking for the hidden and unknown places south of Windhoek.

Any ideas or info to share?

Thank you Alle, been there done that :-)

Hannes, I'll have a look at Weltevrede.  The others we've been to.

I would suggest a day trip from Walvis Bay down to Sandwich Harbour.

I have booked a couple of days at Namtib for later this year as it was recommended on this forum and also by Jurgens Schoeman of Live the Journey.

Ask the owner at Weltevrede about the 4x4 routes on Weltevrede.  Beautiful environment.

Been to Sandwich Harbor.  It's a very nice trip.
I really want to visit Bogenfels and the Gamsberg plato, but Bogenfels is an expensive tour operator only trip and Gamsberg plato is still off limits for now :-(

Thanks Hannes.  Alte Kalkofen also looks like a good option.

You should travel all the passes on the west of Khomas Hochland! If you like passes and there are some you haven't been to, they all offer something special and awesome in a unique way.

Speaking of mountains and passes, Zarishoogte is an other-wordly sight but best seen from the Maltahöhe side ;-).

I found Naukluft Mountain park absolutely fascinating, the various contrasts in terrain and the relative coolness in the deep gorges.

Ganab campsite (#3 I think it was) is very special for its sense of openness and solitude.

Not sure if they still operate, but the rubber-duck excursion off Walvisbaai provided an experience of a lifetime with dolphins at play almost as far as the eye could see.

Thank you Francois.  That is very true of the passes.  I think we have done most passes in Namibia, but not Zaris.  I will add that.
We actually already booked 2 nights at Naukluft. I was there last as a teenager when the area was still undeveloped and closed to the public :-)  Many moons ago.
